Hell guys, my first question here. I searched for it, but the only topic with the keyword was about a level in hl1.
I was wondering if there is a standard model in hammer that looks like a fireplace (Like one in a castle). I searched for it, but havent found it. If there isnt a model for it, then how else can I realise this ? Just with brushes, and some wood in the middle, and then place fire ? If anybody has an answer, please...

Wow poeple are getting extremely lazy lately, first the candle model, now this, common people, the great majority of "eye candy" in a level is achieved with brushes. Either make one from brushes or learn how to model!

You have to see it from their perspective. For those people who have never mapped for HL1 or used Worldcraft, they tend to think that there is a model for every object in the world. It's how HL2 mapping is based, so you can't blame them for thinking that way.
For us who have mapped for the original HL, we're used to creating objects purely from brushes. So we tend to think those who want models all the time to be "lazy", but I don't think that's the case for most new Source mappers.

I agree, and first level mappers should try and not use models at all.

Wauw, these people are all that. They are 'the man' .....
I just asked if there was a model. Apperently not so I made it with brushes like I also suggested: "Just with brushes, and some wood in the middle, and then place fire" Thx anyways.
