If you're interested, there's a few photos of my travels around Sydney and Katoomba in Australia, and a shockload of stuff from my time in the South Island in New Zealand.

I know a few follow my exploits via gwil.org, but these photos have been demanded by the eager fans for a long time, so here they are..

www.gwil.org

I aim for quality as opposed to quantity, which seems to be an affliction many backpackers have with their 512mb / 256mb cards coming out of their ears. Taking a few extra seconds over composition and capturing the slightly different things brings a whole new element of fun to it

Hopefully it goes some distance to conveying the experience of Aussie and NZ so far...

Edit: Not overly 56k friendly! You have been warned!

It really reminds me of my own trip to Australia. I proposed to
my fiance in Melbourne. What a beautiful country it is.

We never had the time to visit New Zealand. My vacation time was too short. It's a pity.

Glad to see your enjoying my part of the world Gwil. Sorry I couldn't
meet up mate, but I've been up to my armpits in work for the last month
and a bit, so drinking trips to Sydney aren't really a good idea at the
moment  .

My suggestion to you sir. These images/pictures are prolly a once in a lifetime thing, take them in at least 2.0 MP, preferably 3.2.

Sure, optimize them for the Snarkpit, but keep a copy for yourself in a slightly bigger format.

I learned the hard way, that cheating on the pictures is not the best route.

Love the shots BTW.. Very nice. I especially liked "STOP eating animals"

I just found my own travel photos from Australia, during which I proposed to my then girlfriend. We're getting married in a month!

I apologize for the pictures being so small, but I hope they'll give you at least a taste of our experience a year ago.

Thanks, Orph. And yes, that's the love of my life. I haven't really dated all that much before meeting her, but when I did, I knew right away that she's going to be the one.

She doesn't like the way she looks in photos, so I'll let her know that one of my mates from the SnarkPit thinks she's good looking. I always tell her that she looks lovely, but she says I am biased (which is true, of course).

If being biased is a disqualification, then I am guilty as well. I happen to think that the oriental races have the majority of the beautiful women.

I will not go so far as to say they hold all the cards, but by and large oriental women are the best looking.

I say that from an entirely infatuated standpoint.

I tend to have a preference with Hispanic women, like Penelope Cruz.

My favorite Asian celebrity is Gong Li (http://www.lovehkfilm.com/people/gong_li.htm).

But of course, the comeliest of them all is still my fiance.

Thanks for the comments kind sir, and everyone else. It really is like living a dream indeed, Glass

As for the resolution, these were mostly taken in 3.2MP (that's the top end of my camera :/) but suffered some quality reduction by the rudimentary optimisation software available in the internet cafes of Wellington. The proper ones are kept safely (fingers crossed) on my laptop, ready for conversion to photo paper when I return.
Agent Smith - I move back to Sydney on June 11th, and will be looking toward getting employed and housed in Glebe or nearby. Hopefully i'll be there for 4 months-ish saving up funds for the coastal run, so there is plenty of time to come visit and crash on my floor if you ever have a window in your schedule
