I took the motor and tranny out of a 1985 Pontiac Parisianne and slipped them into a 1976 Chevy Shortbed. My only problem currently is the electronics were unavailable in 1976 so my 700R4 tranny is not getting all its worth. I need the module that allows it to shift into its last 1:1 gear. Its in the torque converter assembly somehow. :/

With few modifications, the motor slid right in, no prob. Actually the 1985 Pontiac was 100% Chevy, all save the emblems.

Its a rusty hulk of a truck that used to call Indiana home, but it purrs like a mountain cat, all dual straight pipes. :heee:
Motor is rock solid too.. it currently gets 20MPG without its last gear.. /me wonders how high it will go when it does. The Pontiac used to get 29MPG
