Matrix Revolutions

I just saw The Matrix - Revolutions (Quite late, but oh well). What do people think of it? since there hasn't been a thread already, I dont think it was as popular as the other 2 . . .

I thought it was ok, had good action scenes but the plot was so nonsensical as to be almost non-existant ! This is the only snag in the movie - especially the decision of the machine consciousness to make peace with neo - ... it almost seemed as though they forgot about the previous two movies which seemed to create a "Structure" and "shape" to the matrix and the world, explaning everything ... this seemed to mean nothing in revolutions :S

nevertheless a good movie (weak ending tho)

I haven't seen it and I won't untill it comes on dvd cos I was very dissaponted in reloaded the story line was just boring and it seamed to rely on the action senes to keep you entertained.

Although I did have a bit of a laugh at the two twins from one of the bbc's diy shows being in it. They were the two freaky people that could walk through walls and all that crap.

matrix just went down the crapper with that movie, look at the ending, they got half way through, the most complex storyline in an action movie, and closed it with a 2 minute fight.

although, the fight rocked :-d

But where teh hell were the virus twins in revolutions ? Its so gay they didnt come back, tehy pwnz0r youz...

the fact that movies depict computers in such low terms ruins it for me.

why would a computer reduce itself to a fist fight anyways?

i just watched T-3 for the second time, i just couldn't accept a computer, that built drones by the 1000's in a shape of a human skeleton.. i can understand the infiltrators being so for their camouflage ability, but why the drones? they were crafted to resemble the hated humans :sad:

also, in T-3, the two main combatants are reduced to 5 minutes of body pounding and wall rearrangements

i am so disappointed in the dummying up of the future computer image, afterall Data died thru the same stupidity in thinking in Star Trek

I think that the matrix and t-3 both lack something when faced with the grateness that is TRON.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but since the last one was a lot of wanky s**te, I'm not sanguine about it :sad:

I'm afraid to say about the new Matrix film: I liked it. I didn't expect the ending (if you've seen it you'll know what I mean), and I REALLY didn't expect some other minor points (I'll mention them in a year or so when people have seen it). I also really enjoyed the fight scenes.

TBH, the only thing I liked about Revolutions was the fact that it was better than Reloaded. Besides that, part 2 and 3 were both a lot of meaningless, confused Sci-Fi babble with semi-religious and utterly pointless overtones. Lot of overdone action scenes, and very little by way of a good story.

Matrix 1 is still the best movie I've ever seen. 2 and 3 are hideous. And T3 never claimed to be anything but a random entertainer with a simple plot.

For me, it definately needed the s**tty sequels to make you realize how good the first one was.

They f**ked up Rel/Rev when they forgot the formula for the first film. The original was a philosophy movie that used machines, fighting, etc, as a mechanism to explain itself more clearly. Granted, those fight scenes sold the movie, but the philosophy is what made it famous. The second two movies attempted to whore out the entire story, and they obviously failed, as they are both complete garbage.

I absolutely hated Reloaded. Like many have said, they took a good idea and hashed the holy hell out of it, ending up with some mindless psychobabble, held loosly together by a string of mediocre fight scenes (Come on.. those were some of the s**tiest wire-team effects I have ever seen).

Essentially, the entire plotline can be summed up in about 2 scenes, and most, if not all, of the fight sequences are entirely irrelevant. I mean come on, I know the Agent Smith battle thing may have looked fun, but why the hell didn't he just fly away at the begining? Hmm...

Also, I find it incredibly tedious to watch an entire movie without witnessing any character developement at all. That was part of the fun of the first one- watching Neo evolve into the One. Now, its just assumed that he's the one, and that he will kick ass, so theres no real surprises in it.

Ugh. Bad movie. Disgrace to the original. I'm not going to see Revolutions until it comes out on DVD, if even then. I've lost all faith in it.

hmm...havent seen the last one yet, but this much converse opinion will definately make me see it....just to decide for myself....

......and yes, the second wasnt as good as the first, but i really dug the 3d animation factors.....the graphics were abso-friggin-lutely fantastic....i think ive been hangin around the pit too long, as i had a hard time enjoying the plot for over analysis of the effects.....what can i say?....im hooked... :heee:

Well, I thought the first one was pretty vacuous so...

T3 was all right, it was the last 5 minutes that really made it.

I'm glad they decided not to go for the stupid "Oh look, the humans win AGAIN, John Connor saves the day, yadda yadda" ending that I'm sure would be pretty hard to resist. I mean, I really didn't expect this ending at all, though it sort of destroyed the whole "fate is what we make it" theme of the previous 2. I'm glad they tied up the whole "how the heck are the the Terminators still here if there was never a war?" question.

I have not seen T3, wanted too just never got around to it. But I can wait till its on DvD and see it then. The idea looks good, and its funny to me how T3 & the matrix look like the same theme just told at differant parts in the time line.

As for the Matrix, I also have not seen this last one, and was let down by the second. Had great action scenes and all that.

now the ANIMATRIX was a cool DvD.. I loved that.. if you have not gotten ahold of the ANIMATRIX check it out.. I feel its worth it. And it helps explain alot lost in the movie.
