What a bad actor. Seriously.
He was also in the second two Lord of the Rings movies.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Yeah we did a big thread about this a while back talking about both
karl urban and the rock, and i think i even linked to a place where you
could watch a short video of the UAC troops walking somehwere... or
maybe it was just still images.

To be honest, I didn't mind his performance in LOTR. But then
again, I thought LOTR could have been a billion times better if
they changed some actors.
But, back to the point, if you're going to make a movie from a video
game, use a good game. Granted Doom is the most awesomest series
ever (excluding number 3). Doom 3 was such a piece of garbage, it
doesn't deserve a movie, no matter how bad the actors.

Well as far as I know its not actually a Doom 3 movie, but a movie
based off the Doom universe... which isn't really saying much because
they're changing a lot of things (I dont think you're going to see
spider-minds or hell princes in the movie). I think they're
pretty much only going to keep the original idea of a group of space
marines going in to investigate a situation they know very little
about... and everything turns into a big horrifying mess.
So -- there's no basis to dislike this movie because of the latest Doom
game. Speaking of which, I don't think it could be called garbage
by any stretch of the imagination. Repetitive and thoughtless
gameplay... but still amazing visually and if you like the fast twitch
thing, it can be fun. Also, the atmosphere is unbelievable.
That being said I still much prefer HL2.

DooM 3 is a big dissappointment compared to the previous two. I hate the new BFG. I hated it in Quake 2 and I still hate it. The original BFG was cool. Also, for some strange reason, I start out with the AR-U1 Soul Cube when playing on Nightmare. Is this a bug, or what?
No movie should be made about DooM. They would totally screw up the storyline, like with Frankenstein (read the book sometime, it's completely different to the movies).

Doom 3 the movie? Hell, why do they need actors? Most of the movie is
going to be so dark anyway that the staff hands out night vision
instead of 3d googles and the biograph is also going to need new
projectors that can handle 12 FPS.
No.. seriusly.. this movie will probably be great... seriusly...
God got tired waiting all sunday for the world to compile and finaly had it.
On the Eight day, god created func_details, and he saw that it was fast.

Too bad no-one's thought of making a half-life movie based on both games' storylines (as they are connected anyway).

naw Starwars had the best BFG in any game.. come on you know you love the Concussion rifle they had in the Jedi Knight games.
Unreal had that really cool Nuke Launcher.. heh Loved that gun.
If you all played doom, did any of you play its off shoot, Uhm Hexan I think it was called, and another one was called heretic.

Andrei Valve has been approached many times from film companies wanting to make a film. They want to wait till after HL3.

I've played a couple of those games. Wasn't there a crossbow or
something in those? I can't really remember, I was pretty young.
