Gladiator: Wow. Incredible movie. If anyone hasn't seen it, do it now.You mean, "If you haven't seen it, watch the extended edition", because it's a large improvement on an already amazing film. (It literally ties all the lose ends that are in the theatrical cut)
Blair Witch Project: I don't see how anyone didn't find this the scariest s**t they've ever seen. I pissed myself about 8 times during this film. It was just incredible, the way they never showed anything actually scary, it was entirely psychological. THat's how good scary movies are made. No gore, no popping up stuff, pure psychological. That's what made Alien so kick ass too.I agree with you for the most part, but I hate that movie. No amount of ambiance and creepy imagery could save that movie. Why? The actors were a joke. I understand it was a school project and independent and everything, but seriously. They're definitely sitting pretty, since the supplies for that movie set them back a few thousand bucks ... and the return was well into the millions.

And Alien is boring after one viewing.

Yes, but the book has re-readability. Tis why everyone knows that the books are better than the movie renditions. :heee:
On a serious note, the only thing wrong with any of the Alien books/movies were the unreality of the events that occurred. Human nature has a survival instinct. All most none of the characters in the books/movies showed a trace of this. They kept doing dumb thing after dumb thing.
in my oppinion mi1 was easily the best and i mi3 was acceptable, i can't really remember anything of mi2 i'll have to watch it againNo, you don't have to.

Just saw The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I guess there are a lot of people who would fall asleep watching it but I love the little visual gags. Not much laugh-out-loud funny it's just plain absurd and rather cool.

Wes Anderson also directed The Royal Tenenbaums. Another favourite of mine.reaper47 said:That is one of my all time favorite movies. I just fell in love with the artistic style they represented in it. It was a much different film than what we've seen in the past several years.

Crono said:You should talk.
You have a bad habit of mis-quoting people.
Anyway, you have got to see the humor in that quote.. I was rolling and hooting.
I forgot to mention. I watched Underworld Evolution last week. Top rate second chapter... Cannot wait for the third installment.

I'm waiting for the inevitable longer cut of Evolution. (for purchase, of course)
watched Road to perdition today. Dunno how I missed this one.Yea, one of the few Mafia dramas I actually like. From the director of American Beauty I think.
Great flick.
also watched Girl Next Door and was pleased to find that it wasn't just another highschool pornElisha still wasn't nude enough though.
I just finished King Kong, the new one with Jack Black. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Really. Hugh and I have spent many a night trying to figure out what, if anything, couild kick a T-rex's arse. Well, King Kong took on 3 at a time with his woman in one hand. I'm pretty sure King Kong could take Dracula and maybe even Frankenstein's Monster. Simultaneously.I'd like to see King Kong fight the Hulk. I mean, the Hulk would win, but ... man would that be awesome.

There was a short lived series on the classifications of comic hero's/villains. In them, there were hypothetical battles between them, both DC and Marvel were represented. Neither were necessarily pitted against each other (DC vs. Marvel) or (Hero vs. Villain)

I'm going to see Superman Returns on Tuesday evening and crap my pants at how awesome it is.

They were pitted against each other by class. Thor battled Hulk.. Hulk won. Spider man battled someone and lost.. so on and so forth. Right down to Batman who has no special powers other than his noggin..
Anyway, it was a great series. Everyone should own a copy.
