Don't know how recent this is:
snarkmarks = ceil[5*(#tutorial or map comments) + 10*(#tuts)*(#average tut rating) + 5*(#answered qs in editing forum) + [(#forum posts)+(5*(#topics started))]*(#your user rating) + 10*(#average map rating)*(#no.of maps you've made)] + (#profile hits)

So... you've got ten thousand SnarkMarks and you don't even know why? Did I read that correctly?

I'm guessing ceil is a really small number.

ceil is the ceiling function, it rounds up a number, e.g. ceil(3.2) = 4.

There should only be a certain amount of Snarkmarks and we can play a FUN GAME where we steal them from eachother. We lose them for every flamewar and thread resurrection we get involved in. And you have to BUY access to tutorials with them!!
heh heh :rolleyes:

The formula has been changed seemingly hundreds of times since it was first implemented. I'm sure that one is far out of date.

also, a few people have rated me very poorly. If you were one of those people, kinly tell me why. I truly wonder what the reason is. :smile:

Two is hardly a poor score for a new mapper.

oh, I'm not a new mapper. I have a lot of 1/5 ratings and only a like 2 otherwise.and those are not too high. I just wondered if i had pissed anyone off.

The 'mapper' ratings matter about as much as the snarkmarks. That is to say they're both worthless, just there for fun, and serve very little indication of anything. The ratings are a mixture of rating as a mapper and rating as a poster, and each rater interprets it as he or she wishes, which makes it meaningless. So don't get too worried about it. Hell, I've got four ones myself, and I doubt it's because of my mapping ability. :razz:

ASctually one of those 1's is from me. I meant to give a 2 or 3 but my connection was about 14.4 on a P2 333MHz at the time so comp lag gave my mouse its. No offense really... I'd re-rate you if i could. And the only reason i would give you a 2 or 3 is because you had made me quite upset at one time when i had just discovered ratings... Sorry, pal... :sad:

Also i know snarkmarks are just for fun, but I like seeing how many i can get, it's just....fun. Anyway, since i am not at work on that slow-ass machine i will give much better ratings from now on.

You are dead to me.

No, don't try calling, I'm going to leave the phone off the receiver. I don't want to see you again. Your s**t will be in a box outside and you can pick it up whenever. Don't you understand, I'm tired of being hurt. I have found someone who treats me better.
