I've seen one of those for Doom, the maps were far from good. The concept's intriguing, of course.

SOF2 included one, it was terrible (like the rest of the game).

Somebody was making or made a map generator for sven coop. It all seemed kind of pointless to do besides being a coding and design challenge to overcome.

I second that. Really, I auto-generated a map wich had doors all leading to dead hallways. All of them.

I've only ever seen one good random map generator and that was Jumble for DooM. It doesn't randomise architecture, you have to do that yourself, but it does ents really good (appropriate health/ammo etc). I can't see a good randomiser being made for a more complex game like HL.

It worked kinda OK for Spear of Destiny, but that game was so simple and the maps were SP anyway.

pretty cool if you have 0 map ideas and want to map, make a random map and improve it?

but then again, thats just sad, having to use that for your maps haha
