LOL! I just saw a post at the Blessed Steam Forums about your new URL....what a turbulent journey it has had. I'm not sure why you can't forward the domain if you registered it in your name....but from Planet Half-Life to all of these ISP problems....it is a real testimonial to the value of this site that it has survived it all.
Congrats!

What can I say, selling your e-mail addresses keeps food on my plate  Mikee, I couldn't forward snarkpit.com because it wasn't registered in my name, that was the problem! I never really knew enough about domain names and DNS before to really go about fixing it

Looking at the front page where Lep says welcome back it clearly states:
4th April
But that does not mean that was the right date.

Domain was bought a week ago today, hosts (Globat) have lots of hidden catches behind their sweeeet hosting deal regarding to changing/adding domain names to your account so that took until the 3rd to get working...

That's pretty lousy that they won't relinquish your domain, or even forward DNS to this domain, which is no sweat for them to do. Maybe there is no one at their company to even address any of it.....in which case you can present the circumstances to Network Solutions that runs the ICANN domain naming operation for the world.
I had not realized that you didn't have control of it. In the long run, it won't matter. Just post the new URL at various forums and sites that mappers might go to....eventually, it will show up on Google as snarkpit.net anyway.
The most important thing which I know you learned at PHL is to backup the content. Again, thanks for keeping this site available for so many years....I know it has helped many thousands of people, directly or indirectly. Cheers!

Take them to court, the damn fiends.
Either that or go around bad mouthing the sly dogs, that seemed to work for some people over at WebHostingTalk (Campaignjunkie knows the link.. or google it) who were lobbying them for refunds.
But yes, it is testament to the sites popularity that it has weathered the storm. Long live The Snarkpit! May she oppress all ye who dare come here.

I only just figured out, about 10 minutes ago, where you moved the site to. Glad to see its still going just as strong as before.
