When I saw this thread, I originally thought hugh had posted pics of his weener.
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

that is amazing. its a little too small for me, i like to have something that i can feel the weight of (ipod is the best). but it would still be great to have, and to show off! 1gb though, that is amazing.

This is definitely real. I read about this in PC World (or PC Mag,
don't remember exactly) a while back. Seemed really interesting
considering its about the size of a quarter.

To me, the size is nothing special, things have been trending downwards
sizewize for ages. Thefact that it's 1 GB is astounding. To
me at least....

True. Most flash media mp3 players that have 1 gig, (not many anyway) are usually much larger than this one.

The shuffle has basically the same volume, but is in a much more
convienent shape (thin instead of cubic). I mean, a cubic shape would
be rather annoying to fit in your pocket compared to say a business
card shape.

Has anyone seen the movie "Zoolander" with Ben Stiller? It was
mocking the incredible shrinking cell phone size. When the phone
rang, the character in the movie fished around in his pocket for the
phone, but he couldn't distinguish the phone from the various lint in
his pocket.

Good film: "I was in a DAY spa. D.A.I.E.Y."

It's an impressive MP3 player, but I'm sticking by my Zen Micro. I think I'd probably lose an MP3 player that small.

The size isn't THAT impressive. It's just wired very effeciently (with effecient circuit design). Although, I don't think they should be getting smaller. You need to be able to hold it.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

You can put the entire circuitry (memory and logic to drive it and interface with the pc) on a single chip if you want, and just wire it directly to the connectors/battery. Its easier/cheaper to use multiple off-the-shelf chips to make the unit rather than design and build your own, but that will result in a complex PCB and a larger unit. I'm guessing this company decided to invest quite a bit in R&D.

I wouldn't want such a small, oddly shaped mp3 player. My Ipod mini is nice enough, as long as it's working properly.

and a tiny 20 gb hardrive implanted in our brain. We will only have to
think of the song and it will play directly into our brain. The matrix

I think a cube is a horrible shape for any pocket object - an inch deep
is more than I would like to carry around with me for a music player.
I'm happy with the size of my Creative MuVo, though not so happy about
the fact that a month after I bought it, it dropped to about half the
price that I paid for it
