Ok, I was watching some news program.. I cant recall if it was on MSN, CNN or FOX, but it had 4 people sitting around a news like set. the topic was Something About Arnold and closeing the boarders.

One guy at the table said here is an idea, how about we just buy Mexico, make it part of the USA since they are all coming here any ways, and be done with it. There was a stunned silence around the table..

Then the guy across from him said, well its either that or we all start migrating south.

I was laughing my ass off..

So Why dont we just buy out, take over, or what ever Mexico? I mean really, I dont think they would be much of a fight, we would give them oppurtunities and better pay, and all the freedoms they seek in the USA. I think the majority would love the idea... then these business that closed down in the US to exploit. the meican people would have to pay they a fair wage like in the USA, because it would be the USA. Thats what they were talking about at the end.. I would love to hear your opinions..

But why would America WANT to buy Mexico?
One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

Sorry, but thats an incredibly stupid idea. First of all, youd have to get the Mexican government to agree to sell their country (unlikely) or invade (waste of time and money). Then, once you have Mexico, all youve gained is people and land, and instead of only supporting the people who enter the US youre now supporting the entire population of Mexico. The Mexicans would love it, but its suddenly a huge strain on the US Treasury. Theres no reason to do this anyway, since illegal immigrant labour is good for America. They work for peanuts and love it because it beats Mexico, the employers love it because theyre cheap, and the government secretly loves it because thats whats holding the economy together.

God, FOX is full of nothing but assclown-loving-douchebags. The News portion is even worse.

The way it seems to be working is that Canada is trying to keep the Americans out, America is trying to keep Mexicans out, and Mexico is trying to keep some even more rural area south Americans out. It just keeps going down the chain.

I doubt buying any country would be the answer, at least, not anymore. It's make more sense to gain actual relations with countries (in general). Something we had better of about 8 years ago.

I'm not sure how illegal immigration is helping the economy

Taking that they get paid and don't pay taxes back (outside of getting money taken out of their checks, if that, which is only a portion of what taxes Americans pay) means they're taking money out of the economy without refilling it. Sure, maybe they buy things, but only a very small percentage of that makes it back to the "economy" through whatever company. If anything, that's very detrimental.

Then again, I don't think each state should have absolute control over the money they're given. Since, they waste it. If they're allocated whatever amount for a specific stretch of road, they'll repave it just so they can get the same amount next year ... which is retarded, since the road didn't need repaving, but the one next to it did.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

The Treasury is not the economy.

When someone gets money, they spend it. Whoever gets that money, spends it again, and so on. This is the economy, people buying and selling. Money is always flowing. If the flow of money is increased, it causes inflation. Decreased, it causes deflation (which is a simplistic description but itll do). The more people you have in an economy who are producing goods/services, the more money there is flowing around, which facilitates economic growth. Inflation can be controlled by changing interest rates, but given how everything seems to be going over there, people paying off credit cards with credit cards, spending huge amounts of money they dont have and the like, the last thing you need is deflation. All that credit would catch up with everyone, and force America (and most of the developed world with it) into a recession.

Why don't we just TAKE it over so they can be FREE like us. Jesus. I
don't think the world's ready for another 'liberation' of a country
full of little brown people.

Dude. Just because poorer (and, yes, TBH crappier) countries don't have
the same economic advantages of the west (mainly because if they did,
it would weaken OUR countries stranglehold on them) DOES NOT MEAN THEY
WANT TO BE LIKE YOU. Keep saying that over till it sticks.

If U.S. takes over Mexico, then Americans are no better than Nazi
Germany--invading other countries with no apparent reason. Wait a
minute, we've already done that with Iraq.

I was quoting what the news was talking about.. me personally.. I think we should nuke them till they glow and shoot them in the dark. but ya see I live in mexico.. well it might as well be mexico.. I am in El Paso TX.. do a google search, or a google map search on El paso TX.. then do a Detailed profile on El paso texas.. and check the Census.. now take into effect thats only the people that filled out the paper work..

There is an article in this months Travel and Leisure, where a guy travels across the country giving great detail of the good and bad of each place he stopped at along the way.. when he got to el paso his discription was
"There is nothing good about El Paso".
So thats says something about this place.. Most people would tell you to avoid it at all cost, and thats the people that live here.

So if we took over Mexico, it would not change my life one bit..

I see it as kidna secret mexican aid. They earn money up here and
send it back home, so its like the US is giving aid to mexico in
exchange for them doing all the jobs most people dont want to do.

[edit] oh and when contractors dont have to spend that much on labor they can make stuff for less money.

I just got back from El Paso yesterday. My grandma lives there. El Paso
is mexico. Actually its north Juarez. The border there is poorly
guarded. The fence on the border is a piece of ****. And there are
holes in it. Most of the population is hispanic, and I can gurantee out
of that population, over 3/4 is illeagal. I am not racist, but this is
the honest truth.

I am so sorry that you have to live there MoneyShot. I hate going there every time I visit my grams.

Yeah.. its bad here.. its so bad that even places like McDonalds ask if you can speak Spanish and English.. I put Spanish first because thats the way its viewed here.

Growing up, there were mainly White kids at the schools I went too.. White families and Black families were the main thing seen around here with a very small hispanic population, due in part to the Military base here. But now all the houses around mine except 2 are now filled with hispanic families, and the side of town I live on is starting to be known as the Spanish harlem. Its very sad.

Now dont get me wrong I dont hate Mexicans, I have many friends that are in fact Mexican... Im just tired of all the BS associated with a majority of hispanics.

I am still trying to escape this town, and I hope soon to be rid of this place once and for all.

now as for the topic at hand.. the Boarder areas are poor and trashy.. but the country does do rather well farther south. Visit Monterray sometime, or Mexico City..

Thanks for the condolances Sep.. =)
