That's a oxymoron if I ever saw one. An automatic Camero.

I was about to say that.....

But congradulations on the new car!!! Only problem I have with it is
the fact that its an automatic, you just cant beat manual transmissions
(There is nothing more satisfyling than pulling the car through its
gears, and really "driving" it)

In auto news, I just put the new front suspension on my 1967 cougar a few days ago. It's going quick now...

Nice car, bewbies. Don;t change from the automatic, it's not an easy conversion. Not only do you have to get a whole new transmission, but a clutch assembly, cables, kickdowns and in some cases even a new carburetor or EFI intake system. Most likely you would need a new driveshaft too.
Bringing the grand total to about $2000 or more, probably, since you live in CA.

Most ppl don't know how much is involved in a tranny switch.
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Don't forget the electronics, you have to trick the car's computer into
thinking its an automatic transmission (although with this old model I
dont think it will cost too much in this case). I never said to change
it to a manual (nor did anyone else), but we are just saying the fun
factor (even fuel economy and repairs) of a manual is far superior than
an automatic transmission.

Good point, but a 1982 chevy small-block is a throttle-body setup and doesnt use a computer. If it did, add another fe hundred to the cost.

That particular model rides like a tank. It may be a chick magnet, but then again, the type of chick's it draws isn't particularly the kind you take home to momma either.

I always favored the 60's models. Much nicer and still a chick magnet.

A 1969 Camaro beats the 82 in every way. Looks, style and chick magnet.

You do know, of course, that the CLASSIC camaros cost about 10 times as much as the 80's?

Do you really want girls that like you for your Camaro, anyway?

Hey, don't underestimate the utility of an automatic transmision. It makes many things easier! You can eat, rest your hand on your girlfriends thigh... I like having a hand free, even if the manual is more fun.
Some people are like slinkys...

They aren?t really good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one tumbles down the stairs.

I agree completely! My 1967 cougar has an automatic transmission. And the 1951 ford truck that i'll be restoring next will most likely be auto too. I may keep the truck all-original, though. I dunno yet..

As for having a GF... an automatic transmission is not gonna make one appear in my car...

She does that stuff all the time. Ya just gotta know howto control your wheel with your knees mostly

You probably should ask your mother to stop that, if you like having her around that is. Champion indeed.

I was thinking about the same thing but didn't know how well a comment like that would go over. I mean, people who drive like that are basically living on borrowed time.

Makes you wonder which is worse. That she does it and sees nothing wrong with it or that she is teaching her child its OK.

If you care about your mom, make her stop. She could kill herself or worse, kill someone else.

This isn't statistical information or anything, but the only people who I've ever got into an accident with, or who've almost hit me have all been women. It's very bizarre. There was only one time I can remember some douchebag, quite literally, getting in front of my car with less then a foot or so clearance. Needless to say, he was driving a BMW. But all the others are woman. The only woman trucker I ever saw backed traffic up because she turned onto a construction street and the lane she turned into was held up, since there was only one lane free. BAM, instant dead lock. No one could go for about three light changes. But then again, the flaggers should have done something instead of laugh. But what do they care? Honestly, they get paid upwards $30 an hour. Bastards. Endangering their lives my ass.
