Well, Day 3 of our media release has just passed, and I'd like to know you opinions of the mod. The release contains a lot of what we've been working on for the last month. Tomorrow will contain a special surprise. Some of you probably know what it is already

So, discuss! Tell me what you think about our mod.

Your HL2 mod link is down at the moment, so I really cant tell you.

But from what Ive seen on the "teaser" screen shots it wasnt too
impressive -- its probably because they are still early in developement.

Why watermark the screenshots like that? It's really distracting.

I was gonna say the same thing. Put a whole watermark over the enitire image of a crate. Also....went to the media page....all there was, was a photo gallery of sorts.....where is this teaser trailer?

This one I think:

http://www.dvstudio-production.com/bme/

BTW I didnt mean so sound so mean, but all I see are pictures with a
giagantic watermark over them that blocks your view of what your
looking at. And whats there is just not that detailed or that good
looking (even though it is a concept).

Its just my personal opinion that you should release stuff thats almost done, rather than something thats only a concept.

I don't mind the mod/studio stuff around the side of the screenshot too much (though I think the mod name bit in the top left is plenty) but the watermark HAS to go. Really, it makes the image really hard to appreciate.

The media itself isn't particularly remarkable, if I'm honest. The warehouse exterior looks pretty simple, and isn't helped by its architectural repetition. It just looks like early days really - a lot of concept art but not much content developed yet.

The concept art looks great, but I was wondering what the
Brandenburgtor and the Tower Bridge have to do with Black Mesa East. I
guess this is just one more reason to play the mod when it's out given
that I for one love a mod with shifting environmental themes, like Mistake of
Pythagoras.

Thanks for the comments.

Today I was informed that the trailer will be delayed till sunday, due to a loss of some of the recordings. I'm really sorry.

As for the watermarks, yeah, vortex kinda went a little extreme, I'll talk to him about toning it down for next time.

I hope you'll stay tuned for the trailer, I think it's the best part of the media release right now, and it explains the storyline in more detail.

Tip for next time: let the team review the media before it gets published.
We learned to do so in previous school assignments - not that that's anywhere as interesting as modding, but it sounds like good advice for more serious bussiness to me.

Anyway, I like the concept art shown. Sets the mood and theme nicely. I would've liked to see some more map shots, and some more playable level-specific concepts, but I understand the mod is in an early stage, so oh well... How about the code, bytheway?

Well, I can't say to much about the features we are going to have, but we do have weapons in game, and a couple player abilities functioning. What we're trying to catch up in right now is the level design.

I also hope he likes my demo map, because being part of the mapping team would be great.
