I want to burn some totally legal MP3s on a CD that can be played on an old CD player (non-MP3). I could have sworn Nero has an option for this but I either didn't find it or it doesn't exist.

Sooo... do any of you know a good program to convert Mp3s to standard audio CDs? Free and simple would be my preferences but if there's a program you like in particular please tell me even if it's 2000 $ studio software.

Also a quick clicking guide for Nero would be nice too, if you think it works.

Thanks

<span style="font-weight: bold;">NERO. </span>When
it asks you what kind of cd you want to burn, look
closely and you'll see there's also an audio cd icon on that list
there. It's pretty straight-forward from there: drag, drop, burn.

I don't have Nero but if you have iTunes you can burn a music CD using that and it'll play in car stereos, discmans, etc.

I have Roxio Easy CD creator, and to get it to burn a regular music CD you have to select "New Music CD" not "Data CD" or anything else. Also, you have to make sure you finalize the CD and use a CD-R not a CD-RW.

That's all I got, hope some of that helps.

Ok here's what I do:
Start Nero, click "new audio CD", then I drag&drop (or select from the file browser, it doesn't matter) the MP3s to the track list and get an error.

It says the "file format isn't supported". Although I checked the help files where it reads that it should be possible and that easy. It should convert the MP3s to CDA automtically but it doesn't.

I always liked Nero, this is new to me.

...I really don't know what to say. I've never had this problem.

All you need to do is find an *.MP3 -- *.WAV converter. Burning a data CD with *.wav files is equivalent to burning an "audio" CD. The formats are the same. Such converters are ubiquitous, and either cheap or free.

Thanks again, Blister. I still have no idea why my Nero can't do it.

With Nero you must be in the audio portion beforehand. You also must be in CD.

Nero is pretty straight forward and has fair quality when done.

If you are dumb enough to be in DVD or making a data disk, you'll never succeed in making MP3's into music disks.

Nope, unfortunately not that easy!

I made that dump mistake long ago.

But it was just a single CD for my mom. I (and most people I know) are either hardcore vinyl fans or use the iPod anyway.

MPEG-4 and H.264 format 320x240 pixel resolution.

You have to get a converter. (Probably you asked for a link to the converter... no, sorry don't have :] )
