Make this the last thread to be created by you for a while.

Futurama has more depth as a show with time progression. While the Simpsons stands more as a reflective medium and outlet for commentary. Though, Futurama dabbles in that too, it is by far more plot and character driven than the Simpsons. So, on that level I enjoy that show more. But, I grew up watching the Simpsons and it'll always hold a place in my heart and all it's Oregon jokes that people from other places don't get.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

At their respective peaks, the Simpsons is better. But Futurama started after the simpsons went to shit, so as far as new episodes are concerned, Futurama is better. As such, I really cant choose. The best Simpsons episodes are better than the best of Futurama, but the worst are worse.

Apart from the newer Simpsons episodes, I like both of them. The newer Simpsons episodes are just... odd.

My old reply would be the simpsons, but recently the simpsons has 'jumped the shark' (well, a long time ago). So I would say Futurama.

lol @ Fuhrerama

I like Futurama more, but they're both good shows. I haven't watched the Simpsons in many years though. I seldom watch any TV nowadays, and when I do it's usually Discovery Channel shows about space or deep ocean creatures or the human brain, etc, etc. And I always, always mute the commercials, because they're so obnoxious these days it drives me up the f**kin wall.

if i had to watch an entire season of futurama, or an entire season of simpsons, i'd much rather watch futurama. simspons is too inconsistent; one episode is intelligent and HILARIOUS, the next is full of dimwitted humor. futurama keeps a consistent flow of plot, intelligent layered humor, and even some mushy stuff between fry and lela.

i fully agree that simpsons' high is higher than futurama's high, but futurama has never sunk as low as simpsons has.

That's a nice conclusion, Bewbies!

Does anyone of you know if there'll be any new episodes of Futurama? I seem to recall reading somewhere that they're finally making new ones. Or even longer, movie-like episodes. If yes that would be good news.

Reuters: 13 New Episodes for CC

After word from two voice actors had spread during the last two days, the news agency Reuters is now reporting that "Comedy Central has resurrected the former Fox animated series from "The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. At least 13 new episodes will be produced."

They go on to quote David Bernath, senior vice president for programming at the network.
"We are thrilled that Matt Groening and 20th Century Fox Television have decided to produce new episodes of 'Futurama' and that Comedy Central will be the first to air them."
"There is a deep and passionate fan base for this intelligent and very funny show that matches perfectly with our audience, and it is great that we can offer them not just the existing library but something they've never seen as well."
A press release from Comedy Central dated June 22nd supposedly verifies this information but is not available to the public on their media website yet.

Update: It seems that some of these articles got some things confused. The 4 DVD movies which we reported about a few days ago will eventually be shown as 4 episodes each on Comedy Central. This makes the number of episodes 16, not 13. But as I understand it, there is no other new content other than those movies.

lmfao Redwood. Nice avatar, I loved that bit in Family Guy.

Reminds me of when I was in an anthropology class, and the professor was talking about how pre-marital couples in some tribe didn't have sex and slept in different beds.

me: "Well, just because they have separate beds doesn't mean they aren't having sex. I mean, look at Blondie and Dagwood, or Bert and Ernie."

takes a second for people to catch up
