what was that map called that had the ice and snow with the crashed plane and the semi truck?

Also are there any good snow maps for CS Source? Anything that maybe Holiday in nature?

Also would anyone be willing to make a couple Models like maybe a
Christmas tree, and some holiday lights? maybe some Ice Cycles or
something like that?

plane... and I said, de_survivor... the map whose overlay you just
posted.

I want too.. but work has me so busy I havent had time to finish my
other remake for source.. and it was coming along nice too. dang it.

My other project:

http://thepryde.com/seige.htm

I should update the images.. the map is further along than it shows here. I also added a beach side next to the water.

But I may try to get something started on de_suvivor.

I also have an OilRig map I am making for when they add a VIP to the game.. If they ever do.

Ow, I remember a custom CS 1.6 map that had christmas lights all over
the place, a typical american restaurant with christmas music playing,
and a christmas tree with presents under them in one of the houses...
too bad I can't remember the name...

Have you checked out VIP Mod? I was going to make a map for that, but
the layout I came up with sucked so I gave up. They already have an
as_oilrig (two actually, one of which looks really good), so yours
probably won't get played much, sorry to say. (also check out as_recon
by 3D-Mike, it looks good)

Anyway, I think I'll make fy_iceworld_xmas

Thanks for the 411 on the VIP mod. I will have to DL it and check it out.

No biggie if mine gets played or not, I can make it a Bomb defusal map
just as easy. Or a Hostage rescue.. the way I set it up it works for
all 3 map types.

Ok so if I was to do this map, if there a tutorial on snow? and Snow textures?

I'm sure there are plenty tutorials on weather effects such as snow -
just have a look. There are snow textures in CS:S, just have a look a
CS:S. Oh and take some initiative, you don't have to ask if you can
just as easily look yourself you know

Ah, good ol de_survivor was a good map, made by the oops team. The son
of the guy who made map made his own map called cs_playground. Awsome
map also! With the half-pipe (Featuring the same sfx that you find near
the canyon) and his famous "Oops Icecream"
I would love to change the world, But they would'nt give me the source code.

The links to the images are all 404's. I wanted to get a closer
look at how you did the cliffs. They're my new obsession.
I'm trying to do a map for Fortress Forever and yet I can't get the
outdoor areas to look natural. I've been messing with old cliff
techniques, displacements, the subdivide tool, and a combination of all
three to no avail.

What I did was layout the basic areas, and then im going back and doing
displacements infront of the walls to give it a more natural look. In
some aeas I used model rocks to accent the cliffs.

Oh and I have also started on de_survivor. I am going to keep the basic
idea, but try and change it up some. One thing i cant do yet, just have
not been able to do one is the outside the map make it look real world
like. Hell what do they call that? World map? I have not been able to
do that yet.

Nope, it was created by 3D_Mike

I never really liked the map, maybe due to the fact that last time I
played it I was on dial-up playing CZ with bots, the beginning of my CS
career (i.e. when I was a noob). In fact, when I was a noob to the
Snarkpit I posted a thread of 'worst maps ever' (later changed to
"mapping mistakes" (or something like that) because I realized calling
peoples real maps (not killboxes) s**t was not really too kosher.
That thread died quick) and survivor was my pick. I think I'll check it
out again and give it a second chance.

survivor is worth playing if for the the atmosphere alone (and the fact
that there's only 1 crate in the entier map*. The giant ice
crystals are kinda weird though.
