Hey is it me or is making a map for Half-Life 2 like playing an R.T.S. game? I always get this weird sense that it is kinda like "strategy".

Oh I hardly believe mapping pertains to this situation, not even the slightest bit!
Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch
