WHAT THE f**k?!
He didn't even say anything, after coming here for years - I'd seen his profile that said retired, I didn't believe it. Do you know this for sure, Yak? I think in Orph's case I can borrow the words "he really tied the room together," from the Big Lebowski, except for the fact that this is a site, not a room, and he isn't a rug. Terrible jokes aside though, Orph was really something amazing and instrumental in the entire soul of the Snarkpit. Nobody else took the time to screenshot every point of their reviews, nobody else had a postcount that could even touch his - and of course, Orph always had an amazing faith and trust in a lot of people here, myself included.
The Snarkpit Crew map is really and ingenius project. If you really want it off your hands, I'd take it myself - it's probably one of the greatest mapping achievements of Half-Life, having several experienced mappers stich together one coherent product. Though I most likely couldn't map the half of what you fellows have made, I could at very least give it pretty textures
Sad that Orph left without releasing his final work.

I was wondering what had happened to Orph. It's a great loss to the SnarkPit community. Remember, everyone has their real life outside of these forums; Orpheus may have chosen to leave for reasons that have little to do with the SnarkPit itself (eg., posting here was taking too much time away from home life).
He may have chosen to leave without any warning in order to prevent a long drawn-out discussion with other members. It can be tough to leave a place (and people) of which you are very fond; sometimes "cold-turkey" is the best way.
It's also possible that he became frustrated with something about the Pit. If this is the case, he may return, since it's happened before.
Regardless, he'll be missed

I think he quit partly because an argument wasn't going his way - see the 'dm_osiris' thread.
If this was the case, I never intended to drive him away, as I still respect him as a mapper, but find it hard to respect his opinions at times (which you have to admit can be quite extreme).
Get him to come back if possible, he has a lot to offer many of the mappers here
And regarding the Snarkpit map, i'd be willing to lend a hand if you're interested.

I don't think he left because of the little argument you got there 'bout dm_osiris ... that's not Orph-style
Anyway, I hope he'll be back.

I think we should chenge the name of the map to something Orph orientated, or put a wee shrin in it for him, seeing at it'll be his last release and he put so much into it. It's the least we could do.
