Well like someone else pointed out it beats Uwe Boll's excrement. I'll give them big points for their technical skill, but as entertainment it's pretty...meh. I love the feel of the city17 thing ( though I expected euro accents? ) and the combine soldiers are a gas, but the acting and plot are weak. There are some real user classics out there on Atom Films and stuff that I would prefer to watch again rather than this. I guess this is supposed to be a trailer?
People are going off about how it cost $500 to make, that may be true for hardware and materials, but doesn't take it into account the value of these people's time! I don't now exactly how many man-hours went into this, it's not noted anywhere obvious, but I'm guessing it's at least in the 400+ range. Multiply that by even half of union scale and that will tell you the value of this thing is far far above $500.

I agree with Haymaker in that though the visuals were done excellently the storyboard needs work as does the acting, however, that will come with time if they keep this up
and haymaker: there was a bit of Scottish in their accents if I'm not mistaken

It sure looks amazing. Not much happening, though, to be honest.
I didn't notice it's just the first in a series. I hope they have some more twists planned for the whole thing so the story can live up to the visuals!

I found that quite nice to watch. I wonder how they merged the realife actors with the computer graphics.

For those of you who haven't watched this in hd i sagest u go to youtube and do so. It make a world of difference.
It seems like most of us think the plot is lacking, but damn, those shots of the striders and attack bugs (never learned the name of those damn things)were fantastic.
They could turn the Half Life franchise into a good movie but Valve would have to write it themselves. No one in Hollywood knows what the fuck their doing. All they know is how to play to the lowest common denominator. If Hollywood got their hands on it Freeman would be played by The Rock and the whole movie would be about him rescuing his kid form the evil monsters witch were created by gene splicing scientist. And Alex would be played by Holly Berry.
Reality has become a commodity.

i did like how they used the same effects from the game for blood as well as the death sounds
dunno if that's how they meant it but it's how it looked and I thought it added a little fun too it
