yeah it's based on the UT2003 engine...
i remember getting it off some cd which came with a magazine, and played it (this was when i had 500mhz, 128mb ram, tnt2 32mb, and a 66mhz motherboard) i got 2 frames per second and ran out of time in the training course coz it took so long to aim for the targets
hmm i should try playing it now that i have an uber comp and uber internet ...

I did so because the game has changed a lot since thin....more physics....bodies fall in more natural positions...significant changes have been made since that year old post...and if people hadn't tried Americas' Army yet...instead of starting a new post, I instead brought up an old one instead of clogging the forums with multiple threads with the same subject.

I found it quite similar to Operation Flashpoint, realism wise as far as weapons and movement goes. Its visuals are awesome, look a bit too smooth in some instances, but thats the UT engine for you. To be honest I enjoyed Flashpoint a hell of a lot more, probably because it was not quite as obsessive in realism as AA is. Oh, and of course you don't have to go through all the training, which was fun I'll admit, but really annoying when you just want to go shoot someone.

Isnt this the game that the American Army put out for free that is full of a bunch of propaganda, and is suppost to get you interested in joining the Army?

America's Army is OK, but it isnt half as good as Operation Flashpoint.
