Er, that's not board specific, whatever it is... I just tried it with img tags and the 'normal' way of inserting them and they worked fine, are you sure you know how to insert images? It probably won't work if you just paste an image into the window pane directly, or if it has some javascript hidden inside it's HTML code...

i used the 'add image' button. a window opened and i entered the link and hit ok. the image was then shown in the preview pane. i hit submit. the image was gone.

now it works

Oh yes - and the textures look pretty cool, but suffer from aliasing problems (they seem like badly-reduced high-res photos in places). This could just be the presentation on the boards, not the original textures.

Very nice textures for "special use" (not good for repeating sections).

I'm no texture expert, although I do claim to be while drunk, but it looks like some of those textures have more depth than a 2d texture should have.

I'd like to see more realistic textures, just high quality brick walls and stuff that tile well, but if this space age s**t is where it's at then keep making it.

Nice work Brasso baby*.

I'm with Gollum, they seem very blurry while at the same time very defined, as if they have been blurred and then sharpened. Not sure how to improve such a matter in all honesty, but your the texture dude these days

My favourite of the bunch is the second last one, makes me think spacey corridor ceiling for some reason. I think you should work on making your textures more generic however, as even it looks as if it could have tiling troubles.

I suggest you try to remove the jaggedy/fuzzy pieces of them as much as possible & then scale them down in photoshop (which should hopefully remove most of it)

It's exactly as I had believed. The amount, resolution, and variance of the different pictures that come together to make a complete Brasso texture make it seem like some manner of patchwork, really.

That being said, it's some pretty sexy patchwork. Doesn't look half bad to me, though the purpose of these gadgets is beyond me. Looks like the inside of a submarine.

Those latest ones are much better quality: they don't suffer from any aliasing.

Cassius has a good point - you've used a lot of separate images to make these textures. That's not necessary bad in itself, but in some places the joins are obvious and awkward. For example, the top corners of this image look like a badly cut-out part of another texture:

User posted image

Also, as with the others, these textures are so detailed that they could only be used for special places in a map. If you used one of these as a main wall texture, it would hurt the eyes.

Still very pretty and reaslistic though. For these special-use textures, I think you should have the confidence to remove some of the clutter. At the moment they seem overburdened with detail.

I think the fact they have excessive details & metal shapes on them is what makes them THEM. I'd leave them that way.

I don't want to discourage you from detail - your textures are amazing in that respect  All I mean is that if every part of every texture is highly detailed, then the overall look of a map based on the texture set will be too "busy".

I do think that in some particular cases, the borders between different parts/layers of your textures are too rough and "cut-out". If your blending was as slick as your detailing, then these would be flawless "special-use" textures.

Very nice Brasso. I think textures that detailed work better as skins for models though, have you considered doing that? It looks bad to see a ton of 3d parts on a wall, only to find that the wall is perfectly flat once you're standing next to it.

Regardless of how you decide to use them, you have a ton of skill. Keep it up.

tnx man....much appreciated.....i skin (hatch) autocad models all the time....different animal for gaming tho...but its a thought.....but you did make me think of something that might clarify things a bit....when i build my wall brushes, most of these textures are built to wrap on non-verticaly or horizontally flat walls etc....it took me awhile to get the mehtods of building the whole picture, as they kinda work with each other to produce the wall....follow?....it occured to me just a moment ago, that i hadnt really made that point before....and as i havent released a map for public flogging yet, well, who the hell woulda known??... follow?

Yeah, that would work perfectly. I think it would be a shame to only use such detailed textures on BSP though, when an actual model would bring it out a lot better.
