Wednesday, i get a call, that i have a run to Iowa, i think wowzers, i get to finally visit doc brasso, wednesday night, i get another call canceling run, after i contacted doc i was coming (to give him a chance to hide real good) i have to write him again canceling our rendezvous..

thursday noonish, i get another call informing me that the Iowa run is back on again.. i growl, cause now i cannot contact doc in time to set up meeting site

why am i writing this? not because i missed chance to see doc, cause i go up that way too often to cry very long, but actually i am posting this to say, IT WAS FREAKIN,STINKIN COLD UP THERE...

i don't see how you guys do it, i had tears freezing to my face as i unhooked my car.. i was in some amazing pain in just a very short time..

but the worse part was,in Des Moines, this tiny bit of snow began to fall, and everyone decided to play smashup derby, and see the wilds of the freeway medium strip.. cars in the grass all over the stinkin place..

needless to say, stupid people live in iowa too, its not just down south

luckily i made it home with no real problems to report.. just some scaring from the tears, nothing major.

it was -8* F in Marshalltown , Iowa this morning, and thats just to damned cold for this old man..

my condolences to you kids forced to reside in that neck of the woods...

/me goes and examines scaring.

Once I get my driver's liscence, I swear to God, if someone on this forum gets into a debate with me and doesn't finish it, I will drive to their house and prove them wrong.

BTW, it's pretty awesome that you were actually going to meet in real life, it would probably be the first time something of that sort has happened on this forum.

Pfft. Only someone without a driver's license would say such a thing. My ultimate, impossible to achieve dream would be competing in the Indy 500, so I think it's obvious where I stand on cars.

Yeah... It's really not all that bad once you get used to it... I s**t you not, a friend of mine walked to class today wearing only a pair of khakis and a tee-shirt. It was kinda stupid, since I was wrapped up in a tee-shirt, a fleece, a thick winter coat, and flannel lined pants (which kick ass) and I was still kinda cold. But regardless, he did it.

You get used to it, I don't really know what else to say.

That's not really all that much closer. I'm over halfway up to Canada, near the New York-Massachusetts-Vermont border. It's a good 3 hour drive down to New York City (guess it beats the 5+ hours to Buffalo).. still a bit too lengthy a commute for a school day.

On the Dell website if you get every single most expensive option for your PC, it can come to around ?10,000... I think you can get a decent couple of year old car for that, or a small new car if you like wasting money on brand new cars that fall to half the value after 2 years

Heh- on Alienware, I think my friend priced something for like 84,000 bucks or something. It was massivley massive though.
