That sounds like a decent proposal. I concur!

Isn't this what the "submit" buttion in the control panel is for?
It seems to me that the feature you suggest isn't necessary here. it's such a tight comunity that you know basicly everyone. even noobs can get the feel for people just be seeing the way we react to one another.

Post rating would also be good.

You mean topic rating? No-one ever uses that on other forums, and even when they do it doesn't mean anything  And user comments, maybe, but I'm not that keen on the idea. How about a wikipedia-stylee history/biography for everyone that people can contribute to?
Anyways I'd appreciate more suggestions that aren't to do with comments or feedback

Wash those teeth of yours!
I think topic ratings would only be useful in forums with a huge member base, like the something awful forums where loads of new threads are posted each day.
And what would threads be rated on here anyway?
Oh and keep us posted on what you're up to Lep, I keep finding new little things all over the place!

How about Java IRC for #snarkpit for people who are too lazy to download an IRC prog?

Well Jon, most of us don't like the image you project. Thank god you've curbed your obsession with poop though...

Oh, it appears not.

i would like to see a calendar, one we can all contribute to..
its many times more sincere to see someone post happy birthday in advance of the event, than it is for someone to say "todays my birthday" and then receive comments.

Have a birthday that you can set in your profile, and then on the front page or something have a "Happy Birthday to <insert name here>!" message when appropriate. A trivial feature perhaps, but I think it would be good.

And it shouldn't default to displaying peoples birthdays, they should have to manually set it. That way, the area won't be clogged with birthday announcements of monoposters.

Why not add a smallish happy birthday smilie under their name? it worked on wireplay quite well, or along the bottom have "3 users are celebrating their birthday today!" (it only has to be small text) ..
only the prolific people will get birthday wishes and so forth, which will eliminate the "monoposter spam" CCS spoke of.
