You're too modest. The screenshots look almost photorealistic, and you've definitely achieved a high degree of realism in your map.
However, from what I can see so far, the complexity of architecture could use some improvement. This would not only enhance the gameplay, but also elevate the ambience. Perhaps add a dock or a boat house? I see you already have a shed of some sort.
What about a lighthouse? That'll add some vertical play and character. Lighthouses always play a pivotal role in a coastal scene.
I know that's a lot more work, but you are soliciting ideas by posting the map here.

Looks like it could be a perfect match with the existing Highway 17 levels - Toss that in with them and I can't tell the difference. Looks incredible, keep it up.

Hey, I was thinking of making a map like this for the contest but I just don't have the time so maybe you can use one of my ideas. I was going to have a boat repair building near the water where boats were hanging from the cieling by ropes. The idea was that people could whack others with the swinging boats and it would just be something a little bit original to catch the eye of the judges. You can do whatever you want with that idea. Good luck in the competition. Your map looks promising.

Looks purdy, you've emulated the style of the coastline missions in HL2SP quite well, but still needs more details/interesting architecture.

ooh, like that, quite clean and simple. The exteriors of those buildings could do with a little more detail and some livening up. Few more screens and an idea of the overall layout would be nice.

I imagine in time there will be thousands of dm_coasts and dm_waterfronts... Choose a better name. I mean the prison level in HLDM isnt called DM_prison!

Pick the name of a random coastline town and use that then I suppose, dare it'll turn out fairly unique then.

That is one purdy map. If it plays as good as it looks, then we might have a winner on our hands.
