Being a trucker, can you guys just imagine my enthusiasm here... :flail:

Be that as it may, good luck. I always wanted to be a cop, but I also wanted to stay married for the rest of my life. Since my wife forbade me to be one, you can see I chose wisely, since its been 29 years now and still wedded. :hee:

The best things in life, aren't things.

I'm actually contemplating joining the police academy as well. Well if this Masters in CS doesn't fall through...

Ah congrats Muhnay! Wow 30 pounds that's pretty impressive! I've gained some 8kg.. what is that, about 18 pounds! Being a cop always appealed to me, especially an inspector with a K9 (I guess watching Inspector Rex in my younger years pulled me in haha). I chose a path of science though..

my brother had 3 tests I think. He only failed at one so it was over for him.

The other tests he did very well :) He was, for example, the fastest person of the week.

Maybe soon you will be shooting terroists for real then :naughty: Good luck buddy, hopefully we will have a serving police officer on these forums in the next few months :) When I saw the topic I thought it was about the movie lol. You need to change your occupation from self employed to trainee cop!

Yea, actually. They've updated CS:S to the latest version of Source. Now Source version 2009, which is more updated than the OB version. In fact, they updated a lot of Source games to version 2009. In CS:S 2009 (the Game name hasn't changed, just the SDK association under "engine") They've now included over 100 achievements, new stats tracking, player bla bla bla,.... You know the features.

But ya, now the game has all the cool new features that the rest of Source has with lighting, and better HDR and even dynamic lighting too! Also, with the engine update, Hammer now comes with all the new little tools, they've included. Be sure to check out the instancing tool! -Which for someone like me makes sense. (read: Someone who works with CAD software). You can basically update a prefab and see it get updated in the maps its used in, or "instanced in" automatically. As well as all the new render previews and faster compiling, with better Vvis algorithms, and the new brush entity to deal with large leafs. basically now Source can render enormous spaces more efficiently with less work from the mapper.

Also, congrats on the first part! Good Luck with the rest! Stay determined, and we look forward to seeing your badge! -And stories! :D

Oh, ya, because the engine is updated, you now get the new mirror brush-based entity and texture.

Simply apply the texture: "glass/reflectiveglass" to a face of a brush you want to be your mirror face. (it'll look purple&black in Hammer).

Then tie that brush to the entity: func_reflectiveglass

Compile and see! Now as of note, you will not see your own player model (unless you were to switch to 3rd person view in developer console), but you can definitely see everything else as clear as day!

And a mirror face can be applied to any angle of a surface (floor, ceiling, angled walls) and so on.
