What are the most emotional songs that you've ever heard? Like, ones that almost made you cry, or actually did make you cry.

It can be an actual song, but it may also be from a game, movie, series etc.

Here are a few I find very emotional:

From Naruto:
Sadness and Sorrow - Piano version (Probably my favorite)

Loneliness

Despair

From Heavy Rain:
Painful Memories

Before the Storm

I will try to think of more later.
Enjoy these in the meantime (Yeah I know you will :))

From Ever17. It's a shame visual novels are so unpopular, this one kept me entertained for ages and actually has a pretty interesting storyline, not to mention a nice soundtrack.

And Andrei that song is beautiful. Got to see it sometime.

@Orpheus: Good songs there, I'll be honest to say that I didn't like them all, but the one from your second edit was great. Thanks for posting :D

edit: lol spoiler thingy bugged? When I click Show Spoiler on this post, the first one from my other post opens.

OK I'll bite.
Here's a couple of my recent fav's:
Here's Eric Whitacre, a current Rock Star of Choral Vocals conducting "sleep":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhCS7etNEbU

I also found a track of his from a theater piece called "Paradise Lost:Shadows and Wings. It's an awesome piece called "Sleep My Child". Here the link:
http://ericwhitacre.com/music-catalog/satb-choral/sleep-my-child
Click on the first selection. Very nice.

Here's a lady who sadly, died of skin cancer. Her name was Eva Cassidy and she had an amazing voice. This is one of my favorite songs of hers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY2NgKmMHag&feature=fvst

I also like these lads version of "Going Home".
The group is called "Libera" and they seem quite talented (I seem to be drawn to Vocal performances recently):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XGRrZfOhtk

Finally, "Spock's Beard" and their uplifting "Wind at my Back" for the progressive Rock round up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsqD0Fls6TE

I would love to know how to present things like this with the groovy "spoiler" drop down box I saw a few posts earlier. I tried the "Embed" function with YouTube. Copied and pasted between the "Youtube" quick pick here, but it just wasn't working for me. All I got was a white screen and no linkie. I know I'm lame, just need a quick "here's what you did wrong!".
Thx all

There aren't any.

But I can toss out some songs I've liked recently (the videos are generally bizarre):

Regina Spektor, Eet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMEpaVL_WsU

Regina Spektor, Machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rjnE3V_z4w

Radiohead, Videotape
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kCKob1YKOU

Radiohead, Weird Fishes / Arpeggi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XMgyibjqgc

Starship Amazing, Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy
http://music.starshipamazing.com/track/touch-fuzzy-get-dizzy

Juim, they don't work for me either. (Maybe you're not suppose to use the share URL, for some silly reason)

For youtube video's to show properly, copy the end part of the link (the code behind the watch?v=) and paste it inside the youtube bbcode

example [youtube]QsqD0Fls6TE[/youtube*]

To have it inside a spoiler box, just write it like this

[spoiler][youtube]QsqD0Fls6TE[/youtube*][/spoiler*]

Do not write the *'s of course :)

Sadly the spoiler tag thingy seems to be bugged if you make another post with spoiler tags.

The most emotional songs I have heard are from Final Fantasy
Probably not the everyday emotional music but they are emotional for me. :(

It's made to just use the value code? I'm sorry, that's ridiculous. I mean even if you wanted to include a feature like that, you should still parse youtube URLs!

Here's another one that's great:
Radiohead, Reckoner
I think I'm going to end up posting the entire In Rainbows album >_>

I've always been inspired by Crystal Planet, Raspberry Jam Delta-V, A Train of Angels, Time and just about every song on Joe Satriani's Crystal Planet album.

I wish I could find a good link to Crystal Planet for everyone but I have very little trust in Youtube and can't find it elsewhere, so you will just have to look it up yourselves (And yes it will be worth it).

EDIT: Wait a sec, Is this Thread for music that makes you sad, or "emotional" as the title suggests? I just reread a couple of posts and noticed the abundance of sorrowful songs so if mine are out of place please tell me.
Now remember kids. Asking questions is a good way to get censored by the government.

What is the difference between sad and emotional exactly? Anyways, what I mean is like songs that make you want to cry because of how sad it sounds.

I always thought that "emotional" meant that it roused "emotions" which could be sadness, anger, strength(or power, I guess) and so on. I realize my mistake in that you meant "emotional" specific to sadness. If I'm still not clear please say so, I understand that many words have different meanings depending on someone's usage of them, and in this particular context I am in err.

Can't remember I did not reply to that post Condus Mundus, sorry about that.

I think I am the one who made a mistake here, I thought emotional only meant "sad" and not all of the other emotions. But still, the ones posted here can make you feel sad and happy at the same time.

At any rate, here are some more soundtracks that will make you feel sad on a good way:
Thanks to Myth actually, for sending me the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack, and for adding the anime soundtrack to his youtube favorites. I found it that way :p

The song was originally covered for Donnie Darko (The original is a 70s disco song .. same lyrics entirely different music)
