If the maps are nicked from other people using WinBSP (I don't know as I don't tend to play custom HLDM maps), isn't it slightly ironic that all content of the site has his copyright on it?

I dunno about the other maps, but I remember turkeyburgers from TFC - not sure who made it ^_^ if he does use WinBSP to rip maps it'll probably show in their shonky construction and whatnot..

Playing a prank on him would be akin to hiding a blind persons shoes. Actually, on second thoughts do it soley for the fact that he's using marquee.

I can't understand why he chose to rip the maps he did (aperently) I've always loved a game of turkeyburgers, but honestly, the rest are s**t.

Someone ripped one of my maps once... (Leggo, if anyone ever heard of it). It sucks teh h4rd, but he made it suck teh 3v3n h4rder. All he did was take out the lighting (which was basically the reason I made the map) and took out the secrets (which were crappy, but also rather useful). And, of course, I wasn't mentioned in the readme- he didn't give any credit on where he got the base for the map.
I just don't get people, sometimes.

The problem I find with the "flattery" is that the people who decompile and release maps are ones who are not of higher skill...those mappers have their own maps to release. I don't want someone using my map and releasing a sub-par version and giving it a bad name, because often they don't even refer to the original author. So if you hear about "mapA" and you've only seen the s**t version then why would you ever want to play "mapA" again? You wouldn't and wouldn't know that a better original existed.
