Metal Gear Solid Two? Does it even have a coherent storyline?
And, duh, Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past would kick an ass or two.

LttP happens to be one of the other games. My top 3 personal games are Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and Final Fantasy VII. There is no order, they're just the games that I could play for hours and never get bored.

They are making a movie for FFVII. I really dont know the details, but it is about the aftermath of the incident, seph. comes back!
A link to the past...that would be good, nice and long, but very linear, Its just my personal prefernce, but Ocarania would be a good action movie, but thats just me. Actually now come to think of it I dont want to see movies from games, they will f**k it up majorly. I mean look at tomb raider (although it was nice to see angelia in the shower  )

How could you all forget diablo 2! Great cinamatics too!
I agree Silent Hill has a great storyline along with Max Payne 2. I also am a fan of the Resident Evil games, movie was good too.

Yeah, Advent Children looks quite spiffy. There are a few games that I think would make great movies, but I don't know of any actors that could really pull it off. The production would have to be absolutely perfect or else it's not worth it.

I personally think a game can be adapted for the screen. Its actually harder to go the other way around. The majority of problems is that the studios see it as a major money maker, so they get a 'popular' director and cast. Obviously they'll use anyone that's 'hot in hollywood' to do the part, they don't care about the final product just as long as people pay money for it.
This, on a personal note, pisses me off to no end. Taking that this is a MAJOR field of interest for me, I am very opinionated on the topic. But practically anything could be done correctly in an adaptation. What I am afraid of is that a video game-movie would be seen as an action movie by the general public, such that, that is exactly how it would be marketed and made.
Thankfully it seems that this trend is changing, thanks to comic book movies/films. I mean if you say that The Hulk wasn't a good adaptation and also an amazing film, there's something wrong with you, and I'm not talking about the Special Effects (I honestly wouldn't care how good they are as long as they serve their purpose, to bring realism to the story, which is not he intent on it's use most of the time.) Also, the way the X-Men universe is being fleshed out on screen is very satisfying. And I can only say that David Goyer did mericles with Blade.
Then there's Spider-Man, which is cheesy as hell, but to be honest, I wouldn't accept it any other way ... it is just a really cheesy series all together (perfect director too, since he IS the master of cheese lol.)
Also, think of the good adaptations of games. I mean, Mortal Kombat was a good movie ... believe it or not. If you don't think so, see it again ... the effects may be painful to watch, but my basis for a good movie is dependant on the development of characters and plot.
Also, 12 monkeys would make a good 'cinematic adventure' game Like Syberia.
And dammit, I want a good adaptation of: The Matrix, Die Hard (only the first one please), and Blade. They have yet to be done properly and they've all been done ... sadly.
[EDIT]
Didn't realize I wrote that much ...

The First Mortal Kombat was a great movie, the second was cheesy...I have both, and I really hope they do the 3rd one justice.

Clue wasn't a linear movie... nor was Memento... or Run, Lola, Run... Pulp Fiction... Some others. But then, there's like a thousand linear movies for every successful nonlinear one.

Crono - I don't think they got the same director (Paul Anderson) as the first. He is the guy who went on to do the Resident Evil film, is working on the upcoming sequel, as well as the Aliens Vs. Predator movie. I can't imagine that on top of those he would take another MK film. I also read an interview with him in which he kind slated the second MK film and I doubt he would go back to the series tbh. Then again, I'm quite possibly wrong, I don't know for sure.

Forget that Paul Anderson, I'm all about the other directing Paul Anderson, the P.T. one.

Event horizon... that film sucks. It isn't scary, and it's based around the stupidest idea ever: that some new kind of space ship opened a gateway into another dimension... a dimension of PURE EVIL!!!

I thought it was pretty cool actually - not a GREAT film by any means, but entertaining enough. Much like the Res Evil film in that respect, come to think of it.

So not a Doom fan eh, Jeff? I think it's an okay premise, but a pretty crap film. I mean come on, you can do better than a big floating golf ball for a reactor.

I was referring to the mix of 3 games you created by stating "MGS:solid snake". Just wanted to clarify.

Yeah, Thankfully, I grabbed a copy of an MSX2 emulator and a translated copy of MG2  .
Should be great fun once I get around to playing it. (I've got Metal Gear Laying around somewhere. A store near my house got like five copies in one day ... they were gone in five minutes lol).

I would play my Metal Gear ROM more, but the inability to save progress really annoys me.
