I have been batting around the idea of creating another clan, one for HL2 this time..
few might remember, but i co-founded one of the biggest HL clans. at one time it had over 150 members, with an active participation level to make anyone proud.
anywho's, i was batting around the idea, one following closely to the same goals that made the other so famous/popular.
this time though, the authority structure will be slightly different.
any of my old clan mates, be interested in helping me create another clan?
PM me if you wanna private convo on it.

a players clan, who can map if they chose to of course.
mappers clans, don't play often enuff to warrant being a clan IMO.
if i wanted a mapping clan, i already have one of sorts here at snarkpit.

"The authority structure will be different"?
Does that mean you won't allow a popular revolt in the clan this time? Yeah, I'm up for it, but I don't know how much time I could devote to it.

time was never "my" issue yak, as you know.. but the command structure IMO needs a top, and a bottom so to speak.
[DRS] had 3 founders, the top.
[DRS] voted the admin (5 new members) equal power to the founders.
[DRS] spiraled to its present condition since that vote.
8 members with divided equal power, is no power at all.
anyways, i would be open to any serious discussions on the topic.. but my 1st priority, once we decide its a worthy goal once again, it establish a homepage, and a name.. i am leaning toward another derivative of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"
ATM i like "Little Scoundrels"
also, this time i would NOT necessarilly need to be on the top rung of the command ladder.

I'm going to see if I like hl2 before I start thinking of joining a clan. It'd be nice if the snarkpit could find a common server to play on as the vast majority of us will be getting hl2.

I think the whole notion of starting a clan for a game that hasn't yet come out is silly.

I might consider applying to join, used to be in a few clans in my old days, but I don't often play online much, plus Doom 3 is looking to be a killer game...
Meh, we will see...

I would join if my timezone was the same and I didn't get a ping of 300 on USA servers. Anyway, good luck Orph in creating it.

fact 1 broadband for HL was not an issue, i had 56k for 3 of my 4 years at [DRS]
fact 2, broadband might be an issue with HL2
fact 3 timezones are not an issue, no matter the bandwidth, [DRS] had members from virtually every timezone, or at the very least, enuff of them to render it a non-issue.
fact 4 this new clan will be multi-game oriented, so allow this to assist you in joining.
fact 5 its a long was from a reality.

I always wanted to make a clan with my friends and never do anything with it, but create a professional website and hype it up ... always wondered what would happen.

blue_chze - Skilled Civilians sounds cool
hl2 deathmatch most probably
btw Adam, something like 90% of all clans that are created die within the first month, coz they concentrate on only doing the web site and other crap

How hardcore is this, someone wants to create a HL2 clan and the game isn't even out yet, we dont even know if HL2 multiplayer is going to RULE or suck to there is no end (although I think it will rule).
But you can count me in if you decide to do it.

I'd love to play with you guys, but I don't see the need to create a
seperate site for the sake of a few of us playing together. I'm sure
Lep would give you a forum if you asked nicely. That radiant one is
pretty dusty...

I don't think I'd join a huge clan like DRS used to be / is. I used to
play in a couple of clans but they had no more than say 15 members, so
you could ensure everyone knew everyone and everyone could play
together well. I think giant clans are a waste of time personally, and
doubt I'd join. I may if it was kept reasonably sized however.

[DRS] has 11 members at the moment, four are administrators, and one is a parrot or some other kind of bird.
Orph, what excatly do you want the clan to be? Do you want a fully
functioning clan or just a tag for us to play together as a group under?
I reckon we get fishy to make a skin for each of our heads.
