I've had a few stupid ones in the past - the worst being:

"I'm stuck with my map - will you build it for me?"

Maybe "ccwolfman" has a learning disability, I mean, he does play Counter Strike ...

However, you get even more ... unrepresentative-of-intelligence questions when getting into tech support.

Granted, this individual, wolfman, understands the concept of electrcity and that his computer needs to be on for him to use it, which is saying more for him then you can say for most people who own computers.

If you want questions that will not only make you ridicule the person, but also anger you at their apparent stupidity, look at the steam forums. They're much worse then this.
Its a place where the question "How do I make a shortcut" appears by the minute ... in different threads ... since no one seems to know how to use the reply button.

Being tech support is great and terrible at the same time, as long as you don't bother trying to explain what went wrong it's usually alright. And add in the occasional "Yes sir, spilling coffee on your components IS a bad thing."

If any one of you here never said anything comparitive in the start of your mapping work, I will drive to your house (drive lots of circles on a boat if you're overseas) and buy you an expensive dinner. In fact, the more you criticize it, the more guilty you probably are - trying to overcompensate for your own mistakes in the past...?

I think my only real question I ever asked was about func_wall windows, and the transparencies...more to do with why did it create a decal when I shot through it. I eventually figured out the illusionary + clip to counter that. Other than that I haven't really asked any questions. I've had moments, but I just search around myself.

Same here.

I think the most un-intelectual question I've asked about mapping was why the carve tool was bad. At the time I didn't even know what it did and had never used it, however, he never could really answer me ... but anyway.

The 'we were all new once' thing just doesn't work. There's being new, trying to learn a few things yourself, looking online, improving, and asking the odd meaningful question, and then theres being new, opening hammer, then coming to a forum and saying I MAKEMAP HOW?

Relying on the WC 2.1 help files is the road to ruin jeff!

No offence to the person who said this recently here, but the question was: "do I have to run vis? I dont notice the difference with or with out it" As far as intermediate mappers go, that question was fairly lame.
