Quite a cool pic! Wish I could do that. Pretty ugly conveyor belt/wooden slat pathway in the foreground though...

How about that's the first HL2 competition? See who can "interpret" that concept art in the best way?
Nice concept though. I agree with Lep - that wooden conveyor belt seems out of place, a bit too curvy and such compared to all the semi-angular mechanical stuff.

The foreground converyor belt looks odd, as the others said, and I
think the majority of the ground seems flat and under-developed. Other
than that this is a wonderful piece of art, certainly on par with any
piece of environmental concept art I've come across

I didn't think of it as a conveyor belt ... more like a triangulated ramp for round objects .... that would explain the posts beneath it.

lol...ok, unanimous 'boo' for the conveyer. Like the rest of my art/life it's still in the development process. I plan on doing more with the ground, and walkway, I just don't really know what yet. Think I'll let it bake a little longer, and finish up the frog in the meantime.

Creative, Crono, but no... it was suppossed to be some type of conveyer. In hindsight, however, why the hell would a conveyer snake around like that?

The pic reminds me of "Lud" for those of you familiar with the quest for The Dark Tower
I like it allot. keep it up
I don't really contribute to the art forum since I'm not a 2D artist, but I love seeing what you guys produce.

There, see my 1337 1-D art  all must bow down in praise of it! or maybe just criticize it because I should have used one more or less hyphens.
I did post a model once in the deep dark past, but I have no time for that sort of thing anymore. Maybe when I finish my book I'll post a portion of that. I don't know what that would be; maybe 25-D art with none of them being spatial

God, that looks like a perspective nightmare, Ferret! Good job on that. Show us more!
I learned the technical aspects of perspective years ago, where I actually drew out the horizon lines, and vanishing points. Now I kinda just feel my way through it (lazy). You're right though, looking at it, some of the slats do seem off. I have a feeling mr. conveyer was gonna get replaced anyway

actually, using that technique (which is actually the best technique we have) produces skewed effects. It distorts things that are fairly close and rather far away, at least for 1 and 2 point perspectives, which are suppose to look normal, anything higher is obviously suppose to distort the image (4 point is cool ... but a pain in the ass).

crono than widen your vanishing points. Skewing is totaly in control. My picture I had vanishing points like 48 inches or so off the page.

I know, Ferret. But, that's a pain in the ass, unless you're working purely on a computer or something as such. It was just a comment, not a complaint.

Hey Finger, what resolution do you typically start your work at? Or do you prefer To work in a specific DPI and inch size? I'm just now getting back into my art, I've had a pretty crazy year so far (thats why I havn't been around much). I use a variety of resolutions when I work. What works best for you when you are working with your wacom in your graphics app? Thx

Grim. It all depends, really. Most of the time, I work at about 3000x3000 pixels, if it's something nice and detailed. When I'm just sketching around, however, I usually work pretty low 800x800 pixels or so....then if it turns into something I want to detail, I will bump the resolution up and start working over it.

I came to the same conclusion. I'm hoping rather that that is the "tail"

The massive nut was neccessary to achieve that manly love charm, that all dino-donkeys possess. Anyway, I think that evolution is phasing out the left nut. I mean, why not just have one big one?
