Yes, let's not get into pedantics about spelling, it doesn't really matter any more than how foreign languages have different words for it..

Its different in different states. Its hard to compare the whole lot of them, since you've got you're crap inland states with no taxes, but california and other coastal states with its immense taxes
But anyways, I don't care. The US can have its ego. I can always just say Canada's kicked its ass twice

State taxes in this country are pretty minimal in comparison to federal taxes. Anyway, even if you look at the New York or California they still come out ahead of canada, although not by as much.

Britain won against the French in that war. Since Canada was a colony of Britian then, and United States was fighting against Canada on France, Canada beat the US.
War of 1812 had Canada almost completely take over the US... But the moronic British generals went "Ta ta, perhaps peace is the best option hear chap, wouldn't ya say?"
And made us give everything back to the US... The Indians should have gotten Michigan though

And that's called "not having irritating 'part of this complete breakfast' adverts every 5 minutes" and actually fairly decent TV programs, for the most part. Anyway, different culture, different TV...

Lets look at this realisitcally (well as realistically as you can look at a war between the US and Canada).
First thing to worry about is air power. The US has the most powerful airforce in the world in terms of equipment, and has proved its effectiveness against the Canadians and British in Iraq. However, since in this situation the Canadians are the enemy, its far more likely that drugged-up American pilots would end up attacking other Americans. While Canada has less equipment, it does have pretty good pilots (often used by the US because theyre better). As such, Canadian pilots will most likely be able to hold their own against the US forces.
Next is the Navy. The US navy could potentially launch a nuclear strike against all Canadian cities simultaneously, however the cost would be prohibitive. This is why the US often calls for older foreign ships when attacking coastal areas, simply because the cannons on older ships are cheaper per shot than the cruise missiles on American ships.
Finally the Army. The US airforce will probably take care of 20-30% of them, but the rest could pose a significant threat to Canadians (mainly civilians).
[/random rant]

If Canada is so great, why does it's government have to mandate that a certain percentage of its tv programming is made locally? Is your stuff that bad that the government needs to step in and training wheel you guys along? Outside of sketch comedy (YCDToTV and KitH), what has your country ever produced?
And we won't get to mentioning how all your major cities are as close to the US as can be.
