Just downloaded the lastest rendition of the Windows media player series, and its pretty good:

User posted image

As the title says, its still beta, but its looking pretty good. Anyone else got it?

For anyone whoes currious, it can be downloaded form here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx

(You need to be running XP to use it)

EDIT: sorry, didn't mean to make this a poll, clicked on the wrong button :chainsaw:

I wanna vote! Make one option we can vote for

Personally the only time I ever use media player is using an old version (6.4) to watch movies. I can't stand the big blue borders and the way it is a non standard-looking application, but for some reason they decided to put it in a standard windows window... if that makes sense at all.

Good to see somebody else with firefox installed

I completely agree with Jeff on this one... The make a contoured window theme, and throw it in a standard window theme. It just makes it look like theres a few different taskbars at the top, but all the buttons seem to do the same thing. It's obnoxious.

Oh, and does anyone have a decent theme for Firefox? I'm using Modern Gray right now, and like it, but was looking for something a bit more blue-ish.

You do realize you can easily turn off all notifications, right?

Basically, I don't want it since its an 'interface'. I'll download the codec sometime if I need it, but other then that it can goto hell.

I want a media player which can randomly play songs from your whole library, but weight how often they are played by a rating you give.

I should show you my WMP, it's very minimalist. I actually have a total of 4 quick launches...and they're paired IE/WMP/Firefox/WinAmp.

I've never used WMP really, and no new versions can really tempt me. Winamp 5 does everything I'm looking for, and I'm quite liking their media library thing even though I used to hate those things.

My portable MP3 CD player does something along those lines, Maze. Basically, whenever you skip a song when it's on random mode, it gives that song a lower weight so it comes up less. It's simple, but it works pretty damn well.

Errr, does it matter? Typically they are used interchangably, if there is meant to be a difference its news to me.
