PHL (for a little bit.. later taked it off after I showed them) posted new saying that there has been the first CSS custom map.. everyone was happy till they realized... hey this is illegal! Plus is the biggest piece of s**t I have.. ever scene. Hydeph maps are better! I joke.. <3 to hydeph

Blink's a good mapper but I get the feeling that he miscalculates his importance to the world, considering he basically stops working on a mod and joins another as soon as he's come up with a good-lookin' map or two. I do the same thing, but I don't leave because I feel that I'm too good for whatever, it's because I can't carry on mentally.

Cool! And i get the feeling you have no idea what you're talking about.
"he basically stops working on a mod and joins another as soon as he's come up with a good-lookin' map or two"
Wtf do you base your judgements on? Have you ever worked on a
mod with him? No, so i dont see how you can imply that he leaves mods
because he feels he's too good for them. You don't even know him, so dont judge him. Perhaps youre delusions of his arrogance
stem from the fact that you were rejected from his mod?
Oh, and a note to Ferret and Fraggard - Maybe constructive criticism is
more productive than youre retarded line "Looks like crap".. And
considering this isnt a "what do you think of this site" thread,
perhaps it would be best if you didnt speak at all.

congratulations to you too Fraggard, youve taken what i said in haste
(and obviously not quite what i meant, hence the editing) and removed everything but the insults and then judged me. Smooth.

Well I think we will just have to accept, people realise Snarkpit is good in its construction and ways that others are copying it and trying to make it better but failing miserably!
I've seen a fair few sites that try and copy the Snarkpit now, non are as good.

You guys are sounding like noobs. "Looks like crap" isn't exactly constructive critism, plus this is a new site. Give it time and it will improve, you can't make assumptions about someone who you don't know. With respect to Lesperous I am sure The SnarkPit wasn't as great as some of its predesessors but over time it became what it is now. Also how many of you have actually gone out of your way to setup an editing site? They are there to help people so what is the point to making stupid arguments over something in which you have no control over. If you don't like it fine, good it doesn't matter.

I can make assumptions of whoever I want. Monqui is a noob! Crackerjack is teh sukc! See? Real easy.
Hiding behind the "philathropist" nature of the website won't prevent
it from being critcized either. The design is poor, and the content is
poor. That's all there is to it. Why don't I setup my own editing site?
Because there's plenty of those already, and Snarkpit provides the
means to publish anything you want. And what's the point of making
"stupid arguments over something in which we have no control over"?
Freedom of speech - the right to express yourself. And that particular
expression is, in fact, that this website is awful. You don't even have
to compare it to Snarkpit, really.
So, in conclusion, my constructive criticism of the website would be to
redesign it, use a different backend, and write better / more advanced
articles (there's 100+ tutorials on how to make glass, we don't need
anymore). Essentially, redoing the entire website.

They used PHPnuke which is a sort of 'out of the box' dynamic PHP driven website. Not a bad thing really, because most people that use it would otherwise have a non-dynamic, and much worse designed site.
Personally I don't see what's so horrible about the design. People here just have a loathing for light, so when a website has a light background, it reminds them of outside, and they start to shrivel up and moan a lot :heee:

i dont really see what it matters what the site looks like. I mean,
Tommy14's pages are hardly sexy are they  And of course the content
isnt going to be as good as snarkpit. It just opened a week ago.. And i
think what theyve got is pretty impressive. Then to hear people i
respect just dismiss it with "Looks like crap" then quoting it... i
think thats pretty negative. True giving constructive criticism wouldnt
have helped alot, but neither does negative criticism. I think this has gone too far aswell.

I like the design. It's nothing innovative but at least it's clean and
fresh. For a front page however, it has a bit too much useless
information.
A new editing site is going to need something special to set it apart
from the others and help it contend with already established sites. I
don't see anything special here. With a bit of time it might come along.
