You can use all 3 2D views to a great advantage if you understand how to use them correctly. By this I just mean using 3 2D views to navigate through you map as if it was a 3D view.

In some ways you could distinguish not using Vis-Groups a skill. Simply
and purely because I can recognize alot of my brushes in the 2D views
even when cluttered. Although using vis-grouping depends, if you want
the easy road or not.

dont use visgroups in fact dont use any grouping at all whatsoever anywhere in life including commas and exclamations and the like just use everything you can together and its a lot easier to work with in fact its very useful because youre saving bandwidth and visgroups are for sissies

The map I'm currently working on (my school) has a visgroup for each floor, and for the stairwells and other such areas. Works nicely.
I also use visgroups for entities for different mods, if I'm making a map for more than one mod.

A temporary "Vis group" could be clicking on an object you want to build next to, and use that object as a reference when making your new object.
