The models are for a spaceship shooter amx plugin. It's been a while since the project was started, but it was shelved when the guy that was doing the coding, joespizza, got himself a job in the real world, and didn't have any time to continue with it. That was a while ago, and I thought it was dead in the water until a few weeks ago when joes got in touch again, with a real interest in continuing now that he has a bit more time.

The models that I'd originally made, and was so, so proud of at the time, just weren't doing it for me anymore, so I've set about making replacements. As I'm no texture artist, the hardest thing is getting good textures to skin with, and , IMHO, I've been really lucky with finding the textures that I have.

I've made a composite pic up with a spacy background. If anyone wants a scaled up version of any of the models (they're all about 1/4 player size atm), gimme a pm. The small models with be posted for download once the plugin is done, which hopefully wont be too long away.

High res version here

Damn, dude.

Those are really nice.

You should send them to LucasArts and be like, "SEE!! This is how you create models for games"

If I'd be religious I would shout: Sweet Jeesus and Virgin Mary in heaven those models are beautiful!.

But since I'm not religious I'll just say: Good job!

If you were religious that would be considered blasphemous.

I detest spacy futuristic stuff for some odd reason, but those are impressive models, nice work.

That's great but theres no TIE based craft. I no less than demand you
return to the drawing board and rectify this horrendous oversight.

Other that that they are really nice, good work fishy

to be honest guys, with the textures that i found to skin these things with, i'd have found it harder to make them look bad.

you made some awesome models there. you get 16,892 points, and a gold star.

you've also sparked a memory of my favorite starwars game: X-Wing. for that you get another 3,638 points.

btw, what program did you use, 3DS Max or Maya?

1. where do i exchange those points for sexual favours?

2. i installed rogue squadron yesterday, which i remembered as having highly detalied models, and i laughed so hard. strange how the memory works.

you dont get the "favors" for points, thats what the gold stars are
for. but i kinda gypped you on that, as thats a "special" gold star,
only redeemable like this:

so you might or might not want it, its up to you.

the points give you eternal happiness and enlightenment

/edit

damn... im such a forum noob and noob to BBCode that it i cant even get a simple link working.

instead of starting another new thread, i'll tag this weeks work onto this one.

someone making an egyptian themed map asked if i could help with an egyptian funerery mask type of model, to replace the normal resupply bag. i posted a pic of it in RacerX's egyptian warehouse map thread. i dont know if he was humouring me or not  when he said the map had already been submitted for a deadline, but had he known earlier he would have liked to have used the model.

anyways, i've done a little themed set. i'll post them somewhere after smokey releases his map. but if anyone's working with an egyptian theme atm, and fancies a closer look, gimme a p.m.

They look too fake to be world models I'd say, but they would be pretty
badass powerup models or something. I'm fairly sure I said this before
in that other thread but...well I'll say it again
