What happened to the snarkpit pitcrew map? Did it just up and dissappear?

Something of the sort. I believe its Yak_fighter that has it right now. Although Orph has a copy too.

Yak Fighter made a news post not TOO long ago saying he was working on it again after a long break, so we may well see it again soon enough. Don't think I can be bothered having another pass at it, my area is complete enough I think, although should anyone want to mod it at all then I'd be happy for them to.

We were having trouble compiling it before, and now you add that much complexity?!? Good luck.

Why don't we start our own as Orph suggests Gorb? there alot of newer "regulars" around such as you and myself.
I won't have time for any mapping until christmass, but I'd be up for it.

I think we need a limitation on size and have a certain layout determined ahead of time to see how much space each person should be provided with.

That definatly makes sense. I was thinking of outlining a general theme and a very basic structural outline. then each person could do a smallish area and adapt the theme to their own purposes. you could probably even break the theme significantly as long as you provide some sort of visual explanation and a smooth transition.

I heartily encourage people to have a go at making another joint SnarkPit map. I will not be taking part (methinks I am too much the solitary SteppenWolf), but good luck
However, I suggest it would be salutary to look at the current pitcrew map first (in the most recent compiled version).
Orph, do you still have this BSP up on your webspace?

I for one would like to make a second SP joint map.
I've done some mapping with other people in the past so I know what its like. I agree with Orph.
so...
Who's up for it?

Well let's go through some other maps, .wads etc. etc. and come up with a theme that we like.

Here's somthing all incompassing:
A mountain top castle converted into a secret multi dimensional research facility. that would allow for: outdoor, castle, laborotory semi industrial... even zen with a few telaporters. that sort of thing would mean there would be somthing for all styles.

I can do outdoor areas. Anything with rocks actually. I'd prefer a night theme though. I'm no good making bright settings. I like 'em dark.

I personaly like late evening, as you can have some nice sharply defined shadows with redish light, and still leave room for some creative artifical lights.
maybe we should start a new thread for this

As long as you're working on it there's no real rush Yak. There's no point leaving anything unfinished for the sake of a couple of days.
