Looks really nice. I like the textures they are clean and fit well. The room still looks a little plane though. Try having some stuff lying around on the floor.

Ah, this reminds me of yet another cool map i played recently.. DM_Bathroom is nice.

personally, I never liked any rats maps with HL1, cause my frames suffered severely, but with my new PC, I have reconsidered the worth of a well built rats map.

hopefully this will be one

lighting and texture look great, I agree there should be more props.

reminds me of toy commander.

Its very convincing, but it could do with a bit more clutter. The
lighting is absolutely wonderful, I love the colour and angle, it
results in such lovely smoothness and shadows. The bed looks so real I
could just jump right on it

How strange...

strangely... sexy. Fill it up with more stuff, though, or the middle of the floor is going to become a no-man's-land.

objects with a purpose, or belong.

you need to decide if this is a child's room, a teens room, a young adults room or possibly a retired persons room. next you need to place items appropriate to the theme.

you need the tiny things easily overlooked in a rats maps.. light fixtures, wall plugs.. phone line connections.. dust bunnies in the corners. old prophylactic wrappers. lost change.

find a dead cockroach someplace and throw it in there.. preferably a big one

Wow, it looks great!

Obviously you'll add more stuff to it, to fill it up. But -- I
was wondering, could you give us a shot with a player model or
something in it, I'm just wondering how you worked out the scale.

here you go, a strider and two combines to feel the scale ^^

i assume the lack of props, it's only the begining  , making textures and models takes a pretty long time, but all the messy stuff will come, i'm 'only' on 4000 triangles ^^, how can it be playable if it's a kind of killbox.

I love rat maps. From what I viewed nice Textures . It will be interesting if you do decide to trash the room and have it messy like a kid or teen's room would be. Keep us informed as you get closer for testing, plz!

to take a break from mapping and learn how to make my own textures.

Books! Make the owner of this room a book worm  . Hehe, those could be
your clutter on the ground. BTW I do like the lighting and textures,
this is one of the "finer" rat maps out there to date.

Hey Myrk you could make loads of custom textures and try to capture your room as close as possible!

Nothing is impossible if you think you can do it!

Just try and try and TRY and you will get it in the end

That would really make for quite a map. The drumset in the middle of
the room I'm sure is do-able, depending on how much effort you want to
put into it, and would make for great fun jumping up and down on the
drums. You could set it to play a drum noise each time you jumped
on or shot it. Wouldn't that be cool. ^_~

Map looks sweet btw. Very nicely done.

Pay more attention. The curtains, keyboard, chair, bookcase, all three posters, and second desk are all mis-aligned.

It looks like three pictures spliced together, they probably didn't line up since they're from slightly different angles.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Or as I said-

"The funny light colours are from the photomerge, don't have a fisheye lens :-/ "

Photomerge is an automatic tool. Merely take a few photos that overlap, then go to file --> Automate --> photomerge (in photoshop) and it will build a picture. You can make better panoramics with it.
