There is actually a simple way to get around limits on iTunes files
(and legally I think - iTunes suggests that you do this if you want to
use the music on another PC!):
1) Burn the track(s) to a CD-RW using iTunes. Note that it's RW, not R
2) Rip again to an MP3 or something
3) Wipe the CD-RW
Admins - delete this post if I really shouldn't be posting it, but I'm pretty sure it's legit.

Legal stuff:
Downloading music/movies is illegal (in the USA at least)
anytime/anywhere, the only time its legal is if your paying (iTunes) or
you've won the pepsi cap contest (once again iTunes).
illegal:
I would use Limewire (right now its not working for me), or bit torrent
for movie files/music files, really great program actually, got me the
full season of Full Metal Alchemist  .

Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought that if you were caught with
downloaded music and movies on your computer (even if you weren't
sharing them), you were up the proverbial creek. Obviously it
would be harder to get caught if you didn't share, but I still thought
you'd get in trouble just for having them.

perhaps you have not been here long enough to know. i do not believe in software/music pirating. it's mine, i bought it, and i will allow anyone i wish to have it. i assume other see it the same way so...
i buy, far more than i borrow, so my conscience is spotlessly clear.
i do however follow my leaders rules so.... i rarely post things about taboo items here.
at last count, my taboo list of movies is near 300 i think

iTunes is currently under investigation by the EC for charging us UK users more/song than Europeans, apparently  And someone else has taken them to court, because the songs you download can only be played on an iPod and no other portable player...

me hates iTunes too, i got an iPod mini (which works fine and blah blah
blah) but its damn annoying that the only way to browse it is through
iTunes, you cant just play the files in winamp direectly from the iPod,
and because my dad wont allow me to have music downloaded from the
internet (legally but he wont "accept" that) on my pc the only way to
play the files is with iTunes, the only good thing about iTunes is that
you can dock it in the processline.

I like iTunes. It tracks the number of times I've played a song,
allows for a rating system, allows me to create dynamic playlists, and
in the music store you can watch a lot of high quality music videos for
free.
It's a little resource intensive, but I switched from winamp to iTunes and I haven't looked back.
