Here is the thread dedicated to all of HAL's numerous questions. I have a feeling that even if it's not made Sticky, it'll ALWAYS be at the top...

Have fun, little guy!

Originally, HAL was the computer in 2001: a Space Odyssey. But we have a new user named HAL as well. He likes to make a new thread for each word of what he want's to say.

To be honest: I connect "Hal" with the character "Hal" of "Malcolm in the middle". I like this character more than this evil computer. I can't help it.

Man, what the hell has happened to the Half Life mapping community
lately? Every forum seems to be filling up with stupid ass threads. The
mods need to crack down a little harder me thinks.

We should have left HAL to do this thread tbh, I think this is pointless and should be deleted.

If I recall correctly, thats because you started out acting like a bit
of an idiot  Not saying HAL didn't, but I think it was just a
different form of idiocy, and required a different form of action.
Gladly you turned out well though - I think the action resulted in the
desired effect  I think HAL has also now seen the error of his ways,
and will fit in much better for it. Much love Warlok - it isn't MEANT
to be favouritism, if anything you should be thankful you didn't get a
thread

I would just like to say, to all those vindictive little n00bs who are attempting to give me a shameful reputation, and attempting to 'level' the playing field by boosting their ego... GET A LIFE!!!

P.S. "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all."

HAL,

I think the problem here is your complete unabashed posting style here at the pit, considering you are a new guest. You don't seem to have any problems creating a new thread for the slightest little issue, which in turn, kind of demeans the posts in general. I mean, I saw 4,(or was it 5?) posts for several insignificant little questions within like a day. Questions like "do you know this guy?" and other such nonsense will get you flamed pretty quick here. Try to limit your posts to more pertinent questions and more interesting subject matter.I hope this helps.

PS Re-flaming long time members will result in disaster, I promise.

Look, only two posts were futile. ("Have you heard of this guy?", and "Question"). All others have been reasonably replied to.

What I find hilarious is the 3rd and 2nd threads from the bottom. "Official Joke Thread" then below that.... "Joke." ...... I mean cumon! If the HAL computer is so good, why doesn't it have text recognition or search functions eh?!

I think what the HAL computer needs most of the time is a STFU button, or maybe a toggle switch for the "Idiocy" function.

I was rushing through the forum, and I didn't happen to notice the "Official Joke Thread", until after I had posted it. A simple HUMAN mistake. And don't amke any jokes about that, either. :grenade:
