/me brings up old suggestion again, with new twist.
name suggestive to how long you have been a member by designation of color for each year..
at a glance, people would know what year, or how long you been here.
also.. there really should be a place between admin and new members other than "level 1"

So... you don't want to discriminate between people on their post count, but you do on the year of registration? How strange :heee:

I can't delete anything in my pit. I have deleted a number of files,
and while according to my control panel they are not there, once I type
in the item's URL it loads up. I have deleted my cache and history, and
it still happens. I can still upload new items, but I cannot delete
them.

I noticed a few of the reviews are listed under the wrong authors - for
instance my review of "Blind Apathy" and "Rustmill" are listed as being
done by Gwil, and the reviews of my maps "Echo" and "Forsaken" are also
listed as Gwil when I believe it was Wild Card who wrote them.

Oh well, if you DID write the reviews of my maps, you made a mistake in thinking Echo was released after Forsaken

The text options don't work for me. They work fine in the reply boxes but any effects are lost after I hit submit. (Firefox .9)
edit: Appears they just don't work in the quick reply box.

The first two are related problems, I'm trying to fix it. And I don't see how text options don't work for you in quick reply- the exact same code is being loaded for the reply page! Might be some page Java or something, I'll look into it. Never noticed any problems myself with Firefox though.

Right, all these problems should be fixed! Though I don't have a clue what's going on with the Mozilla quick-reply-formatting boxes not letting you click on anything, I think it's a browser bug related to the show/hide quick reply thingy.

Er, no, I think he's deleted all his maps, along with his pit, soooo I would hazard a guess and say he's left us... (again)

geez Lep, if you'd just let him have his way...
I have a suggestion. I think there should be a way for multiple users to have the same map in their profile if they are working on it jointly. Aside from the snarkpitcrewmap and Thanto, I'd bet there are a few others. I don't know how it would be possible, but it'd be cool nonetheless.

I was thinking about that as well, perhaps someone with overall control of the map which they can allow others to contribute/be listed as authors.

You know what would be cool, having clans inside the snarkpit. It would get people to know each other better.

I don't think that you quite understood me there A_S, whta I meant was to have CLANS inside the snarkpit, like say you, lep, orph and someone else in one clan, and some others like reno, yak etc in another and other members in another, then we could have a clan comp when HL2 comes out to see what clan produces the best map.
I think this is a good idea

The problem is that nobody really plays at the moment, meaning clans
are all but pointless. Perhaps once HL2 is out, and the snarkpit's
member list buldges out with actively playing members, then it might be
worth looking into.

I didn't mean it as in hl clans but more like gangs, within the snarkpit, not necceseraly having to play HL. Like mini teams.

No offence, but I don't really see the point, to be honest. I mean, if I wanted to collaborate with someone, I'd just ask them. No need to have rival teams/gangs running about the pit doing whatever rivals do on forum-based websites.

We already have one or two contests a year, which get a decent enough number of entrants, but having more contests might see a drop in that. I think its quite cool having different contest themes each time around, no doubt team mapping will get its turn sometime.

I'd like if prefabs and models were able to have decent sized
screenshots. It's hard to make out any details with 120x90. I know the
sections aren't used much, but I'm sure there'll be a hl2 model section
so we might as well refine it sooner rather than later.

hey lep, is there a way to renew the old map topics so they can use chapters too? I wanted to do like a beta2 chapter for my map thread but I was unable too.

Would be nice to be able to upload example maps with tutorials, as I've in the past hosted them elsewhere which tends to result in broken links after a while. Perhaps just allow a small (<500kb) zip file containing rmfs, maps, or small bsps to be uploaded like the screenshots.

Indeedy, thanks a lot mate, we don't really show our appreciation as much as we should. Very few sites have such a sense of community to them, and I think that it is as much due to the features we are provided with at this site as much as the people.
Errr, might be wise not to have posted that here though, I sense thread derailment

Another suggestion is to have a "Post Mortem" on the creation of levels. They ahve to be well thought up rounded, good articles reviewed by you Leperous to achieve a standard. Put them in the tutorials or articles section. That way level designers can go back after releaseing a level and say what they did right and wrong and what they'd change or definately would not change if they had to redo the levels. I know I could do like two at least, I'm sure reno could do some. THen you guys can get your idol KFS to do a couple maybe and then newbies can read them and learn from them!
