Fill in your favorite artist(s) name(s), and it will lead you to other bands/artists that make the same sort of music.

Very nifty interface, smooth maps

It's actually quite accurate. I guess the only problem with this is that it only does popular bands who sound like other popular bands. I'd rather find up and coming acts to be honest. I also seemt to have heard of every band on this thing, so I guess it's useless to me.

[EDIT]: I find this will be more useful once it's fully implemented.

A few of my favourites don't.

[EDIT] : lol, I wonder if there are any fans of Alec Empire in these forums. This thing links him to "Star Wars (related recordings)". Talk about completely different sides of the spectrum...

Pretty good, found some reasonably decent bands similar to bands I like. And what a cool interface, like the design!

Very accurate! I like it, and it could also be good for finding some new bands aswell.
10/10!

ewwww, Korn. the idiot dj played them at the club last week, we wanted to beat his ass for playing that mainstream-pop-hottopic-crap

I put in a couple artists, but it either didn't have them or didn't come up with anything that wasn't already very popular in industrial circles.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure korn was around before hot topic even existed. I don't think they are as good as they used to be but they put on a decent show. On topic, I've always used the 'find more from this user' option in most p2p programs for basically the same thing.

yeah, SoulSeek is great for that since you can more easily browse other users' files by directory and download whole albums

This is very neat, I put in Covenant and it came up with Assemblage 23 one of my other very favourites that plays similar music. A few artists I put in came up with funny results such as Benny Benassi just came up with lots of "Benny" named artists but not the same genre.

I have some mates who had a digital hardcore band called "digital noize
allstars", and while I know nothing about Alec Empire, I do know they
loved him/them/whatever. You heard of a band/person/whatever called
"Schizoid" Kage? If so, apparently he/she/they/whatever covered one of DNA's
songs...couldn't tell you the name though!

This thing somehow linked Rammstein to Staind, and not Ministry? The closest bands to Rammstein include Type O Negative and A Perfect Circle? Boy howdy, that sure is accurate.

EDIT: Bwahahahaha! Nine Inch Nails two steps away from Jane's Addiction, and connected to David Bowie?! I know Reznor collaborated with Bowie on one song, but geez. I must not understand what all these colors and circle sizes mean.

Or perhaps there is not even a virtual representation of a band or artist that would go anywhere near the damned sunshine folks?

That's who I put in as well, but the bands it came up with (A23, VNV, and a couple others) were pretty obvious ones, so it didn't really suggest anything useful.

I got to see both A23 and Covenant last spring/summer, they were both great.
