2 weeks before hand, just because we'd forget to water it and it'd be dead before christmas if we got it earlier.

We are normally fairly late on, around about a week before christmas.
We try to have the whole family around when we put it up, and given
that I'm at uni and my dad works away from home, we can't really have a
set date or anything.

We're putting the tree up this Sunday (I say "we" but I leave it to
nieces etc, I'm only called for getting stuff out of the attic, lifting
heavy things, etc). I'm contemplating getting a little tree for my
office-cum-factory, and maybe decorating in there too. I don't like the
whole xmas decorations deal, but its something I'm compelled to do.
Anyone else decorate their workplace?

Whenever someone can be bothered, or my sisters start complaining to
the parents that it's not up. Like 2/3 days before Christmas?
Not the biggest fans of Christmas in our house, being godless left wingers, poor and whatnot
And Christmas is my mums birthday, so we tend to celebrate that more than anything

we slipped up this year.. traditionally its the day after turkey day, but we have not put it up yet this year
i will have to remedy this ASAP
BTW, mayhap someone can do a "real" vs. "artificial" tree poll.
we found a beautiful fiber optics tree.. up till then it was real all the way. i just adore a Douglas fir.
but no tree ever looked as good as this fiber optic does.

We cut down an ancient red wood tree and decorate with the dead bodies of Jews. Then we sing O' Christmas Tree while baking pies laced with cyanide for the homeless.

Yes, well. Spartan is nothing if not cynical about the holidays. Me thinks he had a bad experience sometime in the past. Switches to a high pitched annoying voice Did Santi Claus molest you when you were a wee little tot?

2 weeks before Christmas. I want to have colored, flashing led's in it,
but my mother always wants the normal yellow ones. We argue about it
every year. Ahh... Christmas.

Ended up putting the tree up last night, and I remembered the real
reason I hate christmas; spending ages untangling the lights only to
find that half the sets don't work anyway.

No, Orph. "Tree's" means belonging to a tree, like "The tree's leaves fell off." "Trees" means many trees, as in "I saw some trees today."

oh, OK then.
i did spell check, it passed so i assumed it was correct.
truth be told, both look wrong as anything ending with EE or has EE in it :/ tree should be single or plural .
thanx monkee.
You do realize spell check is terrible right? It'll tell you that you spelt a word right, not necessarily the word you're looking for. Not to mention it's grammar suggestions aren't always (or hardly ever) correct.
