I think CTF with CS would be awesome.

You could take out the rounds and add buy stations in the bases, tweak how money is earned, and go from there. I'd love to play CTF with CS weapons and gameplay mechanics.

How hard would this be to mod? Would anyone else want to try it?

While I don't doubt that it would be fun, a mod which has only one
feature probably won't go too far. Also, making a mod for what is
essentially a mod itself (it could be argued that it's stand alone)
might be frowned upon. Nobody likes getting frowned at.

Wooh that was a close call. I'm surprised this thread didn't turn out being another freakin poll.

lol, i thought about making it a poll, but decided it would be annoying.

TwoKnives: It would be awesome if there was a way to do it where you just loaded up CS:S and looked for CTF maps. Would that be feasible? I'm thinking it might not be unless valve released something. (/me remembers when Id decided not to include CTF in quake3 because 'The Community' would do it)

yeah CTF would be fun, but only because i always win! Actually, I wouldnt mind CTF beings implemented into HLDM (as yet ANOTHER update) but i wouldnt DL a mod specialising in CTF :lol:

that's a lot like Bombing Run in UT2k4, actually
and am I the only one who is already sick to death of the grav-gun and will be including minimal 'tossables' on his maps?

I've got a fair amount in my map so far, but its something that you can
easily add or remove based on testing. I've got quite a bit of cover,
so I think it will be fairly difficult to own with just the grav-gun. I
am trying to implement interesting traps that require its use though :smile:

No, because the game is boring as s**t without the flying physics of doom. If you really find one shot kill magnums and smgs that spray bullets everywhere to be more fun than crushing somebody with a table, well... :razz:

Verily, killing people is much more fun when its in an innovative way. but i think lots of ppl are very tired of other players throwing stuff.

well I DO like the grav-gun. however, I think there should be less tossables around, so that getting a grav-gun kill is more the result of skill and luck than randomly spamming furniture all over the place :/

And I do agree about HL2DM being boring... in general. I'm kinda disappointed, but it's better than mapping for CS lol

It's not the HL2DM that is boring, It's the dang maps!!! they're bad... We just need some non-n00b, third-party maps now...

After playing it a while, the Gravgun doesn't bother me as much. My main complaint, at first, was the crazy packet loss and lagg that I experienced with all the physics objects flying around (even on servers where I ping sub 100). That has smoothed out now and I have a pretty lagg-free game. People also seem to use the gun a little less now.

My huge, HUGE complaint, however... is the power of the damn Magnum. Jesus, I just get pissed every time I get killed with that thing.....It's such a cheapshot. Other than that, I have a pretty good time playing, now.

It's almost like the Egon\Gluon with a reload time. there HAS to be some sort of UBER weapon in a game like that. It does piss me off too though.

I don't like it because it's so easy to find. It's not away in a nook or what not like the bow/RPG tends to be.

Yeah, but:

Pulse rifle, secondary fire = 1 hit kill

Grav Gun, object to the face = 1 hit kill

Rpg = 1 hit kill

Crossbow = 1 hit kill

magnum = 1hit kill.
That's alot of uber weapons! I don't think they would lose anyting by toning that magnum down.

I know what you mean. I die faster in HL2:dm than I do in CS, which is saying a lot. I'll definitely be making the uber weapons rare in my maps.
