Just so that you know, there is a new sdk update. Takes a bloody age to do though - mine is still on 35%!

Better be the damn full version! Eye hope that QCeyes is in this time, and some other stuff like face poser.
YES, finnaly i can play HL2 properly! On my new NOT INTERNET CONNECTED pc
(Of course ill have to connect for about 20 hours while steam sets itself up) but i dont care, yay for my new PC.
Decreased loading times sound cool too, there arent that long anyway.
Although, this is not really an editing thread, it should be in general banter.

"Simplified debug-launch process for MOD developers. MOD developers no longer need to place a config file in their directory" Haha, there goes 40% of the total n00b questions.

Barely an update to Source SDK, more of an update for Steam over
all. Just decreased the load times for Steam and HL2, plus a few
fixes for a bunch of the games, and the SDK.

That's silly though, there's no place to put comments about HL2 Editing, only questions?

Because of the system we have here, the editing section only really
works for questions. If you want to discuss something editing related,
such as a new update to the SDK or a new game's level editor, then feel
free to do it in the general banter forum. I guess for now there aren't
enough non-question editing discussions to merit having a dedicated
forum.

Riiight.
Didn't see any update yesterday for the SDK...if anything, it's been there for at least a few days.

Nanodeth how do you have more snarkmarks than me when I've been here longer and have more maps posted, and have more posts?

Before you call me an assclown you shold know this wa in the Half-Life
2 editing board before a moderator moved it, so I wont demote myslef by
calling you an assclown, but I will say that you should READ THE ENTIRE
THREAD before making assumptions.

I just wonder if I REALLY have to download the custom tools to use the extra option with RAD... is it too much to ask that they fix it soonish?

Commando, the default tools use extra mode by default, so selecting
extra results in an error because there is no "extra" command. The
custom tools will just NOT run extra mode by default, and therefore
when you run using "extra" it will put them into extra mode. As far as
I can tell, there is currently bugger all reason to bother using the
custom tools.

I was wondering why RAD wouldn't run at all with the extra parameter.
And since Normal looked about as good as it can get I couldn't complain.

Calm down and explain the problem, that way you might get some help.

This update also allowed the use of HL2 textures in CSS.

Nickel, the same problem just happened with me. It's easy to fix, though.
Go to the Steam game menu, and pick the Source SDK one. Let the menu come up, and then just run Hammer as usual.
I don't think Valve intended people like us to run Hammer from a desktop shortcut.

Actually, the desktop shortcut works after you run it through the SDK menu. I suppose it just needed to update itself.
