I read this on a bumper sticker on my last run and had me howling.. Yeah, my warped humor again. shrugs

Well, it was done on purpous by Steve Martin, but it's still funny.

"And I think about what he said everyday. He said 'Always' no wait, 'Never', no 'Always, keep a litter bag in your car'."

"Beam me up, Scotty."
It was actually "Beam us up, Scotty." So many people get this wrong.
Better to be in denial than to be human.

Bill Gates understands binary: his company is number one, and his customers are all zeros.

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

When Neil stepped out onto the moon (or the hollywood set), he meant to say "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." The missing article makes the use of "man" and "mankind" synonymous, rendering the parallel structure pointless and the quote itself redundant.

You know what surprises me most? That the myth of the Hollywood landing still persists. We all live in a world that advances faster than a childs shoe size and still many cannot accept that we landed on the moon. An object just over a lousy quarter million miles away.

Sadly, I feel sorry for them, but... shrugs

no-one here said we didnt land on the moon. there's a difference with not having the footage thus recreating it in a studio

I was speaking in generalities bud. Remember, I am from the last generation.. The one that saw the event on TV, I still meet people my age who scoff at the notion.
I never meant to say that Snarkpit members said it.

Don't want to go off-topic on this one, but I saw a documentary last
week about it. Kubrick might have pulled the trick for NASA, I'm pretty
sure.

In the documentary, Rumsfeld declares - after he ordered to get off the
record, sneaky interviewers did not switch off cam, hihi - the
president had decided that it had to be filmed by Kubrick.

Kubrick got the expensive NASA lenses for his film Barry Lyndon in return.

We've actually been to the moon, but the footage of the first moonlanding could be fake. I think so, actually. America needed footage to overwhelm the population. and smash the commies.

Well, you never did reach the moon after miserably
failing several times and killing astronauts during failed launch-attempts. Not being
able to bear the thought of the soviets beating you to the moon (which
would have had a great propagandistic impact for the soviets, prooving the victory of communist ingenuity and all that crap, and
America would have been shoved aside in the race for space), you made a
fake landing in a studio. Ok, i'm not really a supporter of this
theory but I must say that those who are have bought some pretty
convincing evidence to back-up their theory.

If the commies would have any small suspission that the
kapitalists dindt land on the moon they would anounce it to the world,
what better way to embarrase america, since they where monitoring
everything the americans did in space.

Saw a documentary about it a few weeks ago.

i my self do believe that man landed on the moon. for 1) we had the
technology..2) today the americian government dont see fit to go back
because of the cost..we saw the rockets go up..if they didnt what did
they do play connect 4 for 14 days? 3) the fameous golf swing on
the moon couldnt have been replicated on earth 4)another reason they
arent goin back is cuz there isnt anything of value such as raw
materials which are not found on earth 'as it is made basically from
earth'
