Well worded.

I think it's kind of funny that you met in a Wendy's (Taco Bell?) parking lot. You also both look like hippies (not that I don't or anything).

/Me notices peculiarities.

1) must be short s**ts, cause the Saturn in background isn't very tall.
2) I have a pair of britches exactly like yours Doc.

I'll be glad when the lot of you get over 18 years old so we can hook up on one of my runs. I am not going to believe that everyone is off the beaten path as much as Nickel is.

My hats off to Doc and Nickel. To link up in so out of the way place isn't easy. Every time I pass by someone who is over 18 and wants to meet up, some bulls**t event happens. I have missed Doc Brasso twice and Monqui once. I have missed Moneyshot and Crono, although Crono bowed out on his own accord that time.

So far, only Tracer Bullet has had to endure my ugly puss in a real life encounter. I imagine he went home and took a long shower and lots of visine.

Unless one of us dies, I suspect we have plenty of time Wilson. Gwil plans on coming out someday and he claims that my house is on his agenda.

Perhaps one day, you'll make it out this way.

Funny thing is, we have so many Americans here. Its like someone is jinxing my attempts to plan rendezvous.

Perhaps Nickelbag has the right of it after all. Perhaps God is against me because of my lack of a belief system. :/

I hate to break this to you Nickel, but the longer I am here, the older the Snarkpit members get. The older they get, the more they realize that what I think about age, isn't so far fetched. I get PM's all the time apologizing for past heated words about my belief that AGE MATTERS.

Someday, I will get one from you to. Thats how certain I am. In fact I am positive that one day, you won't see me the same way you do now.

Age doesn't guarantee accuracy, but it seems that way sometimes. More so to the young who think your are full of s**t for being old.

Man, I don't think you're full of crap just because you're old. I think that you think EVERYONE ELSE is stupid for any number of reasons.

You can't discount anyone's opinion on grounds of age. because an 80-year-old man whose never been off his 40 acres in rural Arkansas is still allowed to argue physics with a 27-year-old nuclear physicist who's been to college. When it comes to facts, there's no telling WHO will know what. You don't know jack crap about what someone else knows because you have not had thier life experience. I don't know everything that's happened in your life, and I don'[t know everything that you know. But it's not because all lives follow the same path and I'm just not as old as you. Just like YOU can't know everything that I know and everything in my life, because you haven't lived it.

Maybe when stating opinions, we can cite the facts or life experiences that led us to those conclusions to help others understand better WHY we think we are right instead of them. Because saying "You're wrong" doesn't help. "Here's why I think you're wrong." makes it a lot easier.

I just saw a Dateline NBC thing where they lured predators from the internet to meeting fake underage kids in real life to have sex and all that. One guy was a Rabbi, one guy showed up again after being caught the first time, one guy brought his 5-year-old son. These people are sick: sicker than Orpheus... much much sicker.

.
I am saving this quote. Why? because its true. Also why? Because it doesn't apply to me. The next time you post something involving me, I am going to cite this quote and tell you just how full of it you are.. AGAIN!

I will keep telling you how full of it you are, until you are no longer full of it.

You will never see me state emphatically that I am right, and you are wrong simply on the basis of age. I may feel confident that I am correct, and will bode no other opinions to the contrary on occasion but I despise the words "YOU'RE WRONG" so much that I have trouble even typing them in conjunction.

Again, allow me to reiterate. The longer I am here, the older the members get. The older the members get, the more they see that my replies are NOT SO OUTRAGEOUS! I have even noticed a few who used to argue with me about age issues, using AGE as their point maker in their replies.
Nickel, there are two eventualities for you. You will either come to share this belief, or you won't. Time will tell exactly how long it takes you to reach the first conclusion. Then we will decide, just how f**king slow you are in catching on. So far, it looks like its going to be a while.

Something that Blister said that I think is really true about forums like this. We have members who have been here for years. Over the years we can actually see how peoples' opinions and beliefs change. Most of us actually become wiser from the insight of others on the forum. I know I've changed a lot as a person in just the past year. More than you know. It's awesome too because I think without a forum like this one I'd be a lot more ignorant.

We do, don't we

plus i can think of a few members here who came in with a big mouth like the 1337 teens they were, but the culture here seemed to mature them quite fast. Putting full credit on snarkpit seems an overestimation though. Mostly it's a part of growing up, but the speed at which these changes occured seem to point out snarkpit as a big contributor.

And orpheus, dude, you can't just say that "eventually you'll think like i do and if you don't you're slow." that's the biggest load of crap I've seen since we had cows out here... I know plenty of people as old as you and older, more mature and less, and they don't think like that...

.
You're splitting hairs. You really do need to learn how to debate. You... Lose so often because you're outlook is appalling. You're tactics really need help.

When I say "like me" I didn't mean, you'll like blue best because older people like blue. I do not think that you will really favor rice over noodles, Which I joke about incessantly and is quite untrue. Being of Italian decent... Pasta is all.

Anyway, I am so confident that someday you will not see me as an old person, but more a kindred spirit that I am willing to lay odds on it. In one form or another, I will be available. Be it online, or in real life. When you finally see what I say is right, please feel free to let me know.

And yes, the longer it takes, will make us worry.

In the interm, I will be taking notes. You are so predictable that, when you do start to learn, I will know. More than likely, before you are even aware of it. One day you are going to wake up an... Be old too.

I can't wait to see some new punk show up and inform you, just exactly how much s**t you're full of.
Someday, you'll owe me an apology. I will not accept it of course because... I never did apologize to the old people I picked on when I was an insufferable know it all just like you.

The question is, what are you saying? I don't mean to stur sh*t up, but
Orph you are dancing around the subject in a grey area, maybe I am a dumb young
guy or haven?t reached the level of thinking your talking about... but I just
can't follow what your point is.

Nickel's point was that it isn't your age that dictates what you know, it?s
the experience you've gained up to the present point in your life. Age
only allows more time to experience life, and thus come to conclusions about
it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not trying to pick on you I?m only
trying to understand what you?re saying. I am just agreeing with nickel
on this point, to be honest I don't agree with him on most things, just like I
don't agree with you on many things, but I don't let that stop me from
defending him (or anyone) I DO agree with.

Doc, my replies will clarify themselves long after I am gone. They really have no concrete "THIS WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND" type of answer.

As you said, experience helps. Someday, your experience will catch up to you and.... some form of clarity will happen. There is some kind of a barrier between before/enlightenment. And no amount of explanation will breach it. Sorry.

As far as you thinking you are giving me a hard time, don't worry about it bud. I am so confident that what I say is correct that I can afford to be humble. Nothing (on topic) you can say will ruffle my feathers.

As far as you defending Nickel, I am unsure what you mean. Nickel digs his own holes, if you want to join him in one of them go for it. You don't have to defend him to be there. Nickel deliberately creates confusion in many of his replies. If you ever nail him down to where he cannot squirm out of the answer you post, he will totally ignore it in favor of creating chaos in another thread he is free to move about in.

Nickels only redeeming quality is his tenacity. I admit it gets old, but at least he doesn't change to a different person daily.

if i understand orph correctly he is not trying to tell nickel that he will agree with his ideas, but will finally realize that orph is not always trying to tell him he's wrong or one-up him, only showing him another way to look at things

but i do agree that nickels arguements tend to hold no relevance at times and lack substance, im sure mine do at times as well, but sometimes you have to let go of the s**tty weightless ones :heee: User posted image

Let me see if I can try one last time to make it make sense.

I know that on some level you already view "AGE" I am not going to believe that you think that some 12 year old, or (pick any random age you wish thats younger than yourself) has the same view on life, or the same opinions and values you do. I refuse to believe it, even if somehow you say you believe that a 12 year old could possibly have any opinion you'd share.

Same holds true with adults. Its not really that we intentionally mean to be disrespectful of youth, but more so that we have already been there type of viewpoint. In other words, unless you have done something DRASTICALLY different, you are pretty much going to do the same things we have.

Now carry that to the next step. One day, you to are going to reach that threshold. This isn't some magical number like "when you reach 25 you are going to be blessed with maturity" My parents are incredibly immature on many things and they are obviously much older than I. BUT GUESS WHAT? I am still the f**king kid in their minds. Go figure.

Anyway, my point is that someday you will reach an age to where when you happen to think about some of the weird things I said once, you won't necessarily think "WEIRD" You are more apt to understand, even if its still something you totally disagree with.

For instance, I firmly and whole heartedly believe that in order to have an opinion "OF VALUE" that you have to have some experience in the opinion. If you think spaghetti noodles make better recipes than macaroni, then obviously you must know something about cooking... (although eating might marginally qualify you, it would depend on the direction the discussion when)

Anyway, my views on valuable informed opinions are based on my "AGE" outlook. It doesn't mean that I discriminate against age. If I needed advice on a application of a CAD program I would prolly seek out Doc Brassballs. If I needed some literary advice, I would prolly seek out Gollum. If I needed advice on flying, I would be more apt to seek out WildCard. But my reasons are, they have an informed view of the subject matter. I wouldn't seek out non-informed individuals in spite of the fact that they may feel that their opinions are just as good as anybodies. Their view of THEMSELVES is no concern of mine.

Younger people would think that is pure bulls**t. Everyone has an opinion and thats the end of the story.

Anyway, perhaps that clears up some of the smokiness.

Methinks you are insinuating that if they haven't gotten it already, they aren't likely too?

Perhaps, but I abhor ignorance that can be changed. It may or may not sink in very fast, but I always hope that it will sink in eventually. Some of these members are at the crux of adulthood. They have got to see something of what I am saying. The rest are either already adults and are ignoring my posts or to young to give a s**t what I type.

As strange as it may seem, I like getting those messages that finally say something about enlightenment. They may still think I am full of s**t but they understand now "why".. Its no longer just prepubescent angst.

you know me too well sir...

meh, most will get it in time jon, its just, the longer i live, the more im convinced that this is one of those "self-learned" things in life, that really, as much as we'd like to guide and help, (ie, 'learn from my mistakes') must be learned and/or tripped over and/or contemplated on each individuals own terms.....'ya cant teach a bloodhound to hunt, its in their brain, or it isnt...'

they will get it, in time.....or not... :heee:

When I was a teen (and before) I remember giving my ol'man those "LOOKS"

You know, the "I'LL SHOW YOU SOMEDAY YOU ASS" kinda looks.

I think back on them and think that I deserved the black eyes. I didn't appreciate them much at the time but... How much I'd like to bust a few eyes myself nowdays.

Funny, how we look backward on painful events. I don't think that I learned a damned thing getting punched, but in hindsight, I now know that I did deserve them.
