I've heard the movie was poop, "not enough robots, too much geeky kid" etc.

I'll watch it nontheless, still a week till it's out up here though.

I felt that the animation added nothing to the story. They could have just shown the film instead of drawing on top of it, Photoshop-Filter style. That's my gripe with the movie.

Could have become one of my favorite science fiction movies in years, if it didn't do the "at the border of science we find religion" thing.

The disks they sent me had daubed as the default bit it had the original audio. I've read a whole lot of people saying that subs are so much better so i watched the first 2 disks twice. first with the English audio and second with the subs. I found the dubs to be a better translation. only on one occasion did the subs make a smother translation. The rest of the time the English audio just sounded more natural. I think it because the subs are a more direct translation and Japanese to English is like apples to oranges. I think for a good translation you just have to take the idea and rewrite it fit your language.

I got my sister the DVD for her birthday, and we watched five episodes in a row last night. Not quite as good as I remember it, but still good.

The X Files is a classic

I just got back from watching Transformers at the cinema. The special effects were awesome, and the action pretty intense. However, the movie felt sooooo mainstream and sooooo typical teenage-romance-action. I've gotten a bit tired of the same old concept. All in all a pretty cool movie, 3 stars out of 5.

I liked Transformers. Fun action, and the dodgy romance wasnt really prominent enough to bother me too much.

Saw it with chinese subtitles though.

I just saw Takeshis' (2005), a japanese movie about two lookalike actors, one of them successful and the other one not. This was easily one of the most bizarre movies I've ever seen, where dream and reality kept on mixing together. A bit slow at times, and hard to comprehend, but still interesting. 3/5.

If I compare this movie to Transformers, even though Transformers was 1000x easier to understand, had tons of special effects, car chases, action etc etc, I still felt unsatisfied after watching it. I felt as if I had eaten one cookie too many. Takeshis' on the other hand was more like a slice of that brown, healthy bread, with no butter on it. It didn't taste that good, but at least I didn't feel sick and disgusted after eating it.

For the last week its been bugging this s**t out of people. It was attached to Transformers and is incredibly secretive. Apparently, there's a viral online campaign going on and the 1-18-08.com is the only real site anyone has found related to the project. There's a bunch more apparently.

There's so much stipulation over what the monster is. I guess, even the cast agreed to do the film without seeing a script, producers wouldn't release any information besides the low down (which is basically what you're seeing in that trailer).

This seems to be related to it http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ I managed to get the first code, but the second one has me stumped.

The codename for the film is apparently 'Cloverfield'.

The 'monster' seems to be known as 'The Parasite'

Edit: These are the hints for the puzzles in the http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ website:

If you're receiving this auto-response message it means that I've gone into hiding. You should be careful now, too. They're likely to start coming after all of us in an attempt to keep the balance of power in their favor. But remember, as our numbers increase as a group, the weaker they'll become.

As you recruit new people to our cause, you might need to share this message as guidance for how to navigate the 5 locks to the key code...

1) The first lock will test your memory. Follow the trail of light and sound, but be careful -- one wrong move will send you back to the beginning.

2) For the second lock, you may need to look to the stars. They will help you find HAAS who will lead your way.

3) The third lock will require you to extinguish all lights but one. Only with one light remaining will you be able to proceed.

4) The fourth lock will let you move all 4 pieces through the control of one. However, unless the three key pieces are simultaneously placed into position, you will not be granted access.

5) The fifth lock will be the toughest. Seek help again from the stars to reveal your key and the message that you must decode. The two working together will open the way.

Good luck.

Yo rumple, I saw transformers today and I gotta say, I came into the cinema with extremely low expectations and I was very surprised. It was actually good. If you like action movies than this is the movie for you. Some parts bugged me though. The robots are still called like "robotron" and the other baby names from the cartoons and the ending sucked, it wasen't bad but it seemed out of place compared to the coolness of the rest of the film, as if they rushed the ending.

This movie gets, well I couldn't give it anything lower than a 3/5 but there's this weird pain in my neck thats telling me that 4/5 is right. So transformers receives 4/5 golden stars from aaron_da_killa.

But that said, the worst thing you can do is walk into the cinema with high expectations and then be dis-appointed.

Apparently "www.slusho.jp" is part of the marketing campaign as well. One of the guys in the trailer wears a "Slusho" T-shirt.

The film is written by the LOST creator and there seem to be a lot of similarities. I hope it doesn't get lost (bah!) in meaningless details and pseudo-mystery. I saw that trailer not expecting anything at all, maybe a harmless romantic comedy or the like so it had quite an impact on me.

Make sure that your neck isn't bleeding profusely. However, if you were bleeding from the neck that much, I'm sure that you won't get to see this or respond to it.

Anyways, I recently saw Shooter and Stranger Than Fiction. I'm not even going to review. I'm too exhausted from all this heat.

When I saw that trailer in the theatres I yelled out "Gojira!" after like the first 5 seconds of it...I was kind of creeped out that it seemed very fitting for a Godzilla movie, but who knows.

As for Transformers it was a lot better than I had expected. I never really watched the cartoon at all growing up, so I'm not sure if that added or detracted from how enjoyable it would be.

The only thing that added from watching the cartoon (and enjoying it) would be Peter Cullen doing the voice for Optimus Prime and the narration.

I just watched Requiem For A Dream (2000) the directors cut version, and it's easily one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life, maybe even the best one. I haven't been this touched by a movie since I saw E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial when I was around 10 years old and cried my eyeballs out. An incredible movie that everyone should see. Easy 5/5.

Deja Vu: Renewed hope in the movie industry. One of the most brilliant stories... absolutely loved this. Recommend it to all.

The time machine sucked though, too unreal. Cool movie nontheless.

Saw The Usual Suspects (1995) yesterday, nice movie. 4/5.
What the Snarkpitters listen to!
