I've watched these recently:
All In (2006) - Bad poker and annyoing baby faced characters mixed into something not so good. Most people probably should stay away! 2/5.
Save the Last Dance (2001) - This one was a surprise actually. Very good, NOT your typical stupid teenage drama/romance. It really had a soul. 4/5.
Shooter (2007) - Great action flick. 4/5.
Blood Diamond (2006) - Blood Diamond was awesome, really something. I think this is a must see for everyone. 4.5/5.
American History X (1998) - Watched it a second time, still one of my absolute favorits. Everyone should see this one as well. 5/5.
Reign Over Me (2007) - I had high hopes after reading about it on IMDB, but I was disappointed. Adam Sandlers character annoyed me quite a bit, and I didn't feel a thing for any of the characters. I thought it was kind of boring. Maybe I'm just heartless I dunno. 3/5.
EDIT:
Just watched Zodiac (2007), was decent but not great. I thought it got better closed to the end. 3/5.
After finishing my noodles I'm gonna watch
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) with Jim Carrey.
EDIT 2:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was great. Was really nice to see Jim Carrey in such a "serious" role, I've mostly seen him performing in comedies before. 4/5.
EDIT 3:
Save the Last Dance 2 (2006) - Everything that made the first movie good, including all but the main character, and all actors, are gone. So yes, the main actress has been replaced, and her character is quite different from the one in the original. Did contain some cool dance moves though. All in all a disappointment. 2/5.
Fight Club (1999) - Was my first time watching this, and I had high hopes for it. It more or less lived up to my expectations, and I have the feeling I'll have to watch it more than once to notice all the details. I liked the criticism of consumerism, and I think some of those points are very valid, especially for me as I think about earning and spending money almost no matter what I do. Maybe we're just working our asses of to buy s**t we don't need? I was at an IKEA warehouse the day after seeing Fight Club, and it was quite interesting to see how people were shopping like there was no tomorrow. 4/5.
Fracture (2007) - Decent movie with Anthony Hopkins, but nothing special. 3/5.
Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000) - Another decent movie, but it felt a bit predictable. Nothing special. Could be that I'd seen it before. 3.5/5.
And yesterday I watched the
The Lord of the Rings trilogy in one streak, all movies were extended editions. I think the playtime was arond 11.5 hours in total, and I can say I was quite tired when watching the last one. All three movies are great, and they all deserve five snarks out of five.
What the Snarkpitters listen to!
