I converted the coastal level from Half-Life 2 to a deathmatch arena.

It has a large, open area that is divided into four levels. The gameplay is fast-paced and item placement is balanced.

There are seven spawn points.

This is my second map but my first time using displacement. Its jungle themed map. plz let me know if i have packed everything in to the bsp correctly as i am a noob at that. let me know what ya think.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch urbanwaralpha

Set around 3 old row houses in a big city suburb with road construction around them.
This map is in beta, lighting isn't complete and no optimization yet. I have yet to install hint brushes player clips and area portals. Also I may move a couple stair ways around to make player movement more fluid.
Weapon and items are scattered around but may not be in their final positions yet, but I put them in to get a feel for the place.
The file is big due to custom texures and models. I am going to redo some models since I'm not happy with them or their texturing.

I updated the player locations and a soundscape also got new screenies
Ok, I used pakrat to compress it and add the files to the BSP. Hope I got it right.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_forlorn

This is my second map, which took everything I had learnt from the first and put it into another bread and butter Half Life 2: Deathmatch map, developed in less than half the time of the first.

It is a relatively small map, which has been designed to play nice and tight and fast, with sull support for teamplay.

This is the final release. Along with the new name dm_forlorn (previously dm_rain), many/all of the bugs which were present have been squashed. Enjoy the map!

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_clue_v1

Not sure what to really say here...

As the title indicates, the map's based on the board game 'Clue' (known as 'Cluedo' outside of North America apparently).

The passageways from the board game are in the map. Click on the floor where they are to open them. The weapons from the board game are also scattered around the map, minus the rope because I couldn't make it appear how I wanted it to.

The inside of the map focuses more on run and gun gameplay while the outside focuses on gravity guns, although some stuff on the inside can be picked up with the gravity gun and there is ammo for the rocket launcher on the roof.

This is the first map I've ever released on a site like this (I've only made two playable ones before now, one of which was barely playable due to extreme amounts of lag caused by the map itself), so I'm kind of nervous about putting this on here.

I had to make a few cuts with models in the map. One reason for that was because I basically had too many placed in the map. And then I tried to get the piano from Left 4 Dead in the map, but I encountered another problem that I won't go into here, so I just made the piano out of brushes in Hammer, basing it on L4D's piano (and even using part of its texture).

The skybox is kind of bad looking, but this is my first map with any outside areas. The ground outside was originally going to be made of displacements, but lights appeared weirdly on it for some reason, so I had to cut that too.

So, yeah, this isn't the greatest map ever, but I think it could be fun on a server with at least a few players, maybe more since it's kind of big (I have no way to test that myself unfortunately). Feel free to tell me where you think weapons and items should be added/removed, etc. Have fun (hopefully...).

Play Style:
Built with 3v3 in mind but shold work equally well as 1v1
The RPG is atop of a tube that constantly raises and lowers so you gotta spend some time planning when yuo're gonna access it, it also functionis as a lift (it is not a lift) to the 3 levels. When someone attempts to collect the RPG the seconds it takes allows an opposing player time to reach a vantage vai an alternative route, hopefully balancing the rpg's role during play.

Theme:
Set in what has been described as a lost colony, possibly harvesting some unknown resource

Weapons:
2x mags
3x xbow
3x shotty
2x ar2
plenty of grenades
3x orbs
3x smg nades

Health:
1 x super charger
2 x suit chargers
2 x health chargers
plenty of health kits and a few suit

Areas: The map is comprised of 3 main play areas
1. charger area
2. RPG (lift) area
3. Garden area (+ indoor botanical garden)
there is also a rather pivotal connecting setion that overlooks all 3 to some degree.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch wild_west

This is a small map I was making for HL1 and like many other projects I've been doing for HL1, it also got left behind and abandoned. When I started mapping for HL2, and realised I can convert maps from HL1 to HL2, I used this map as a sort of tutorial map, and I've been adding on to it as I've been learning about HL2 editing. The map is a small 2-8 player map and is at 40% progress. My biggest goal at Snarkpit has been to add maps and contribute to the site because it is one of my favourite sites, hopefully, I'll have uploaded this map soon.

It is a map on which I have practiced lighting, texture, architecture. This is not my first map, but it may well end up being the first I post because it is the smallest. There isn't much gameplay to it at the moment, but it's only at 40% and will definitely be worth a run when it's complete.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_diehard

This was my first source map, which I started around five years ago. It was almost complete but I was never satisfied with it so i never released it. So, I decided to load it up, rename it from dm_garage to dm_diehard, polish it off, and submit it to the community. I have a tendency to not submit things, but I want to be rid of that. This is the first of a few projects I have not submitted that were almost done.

This map is based off of the first level of the game Die Hard Trilogy for PS1 (terrible graphics but very fun), which was a parking garage. I recreated the map in hammer and then added my own artistic licence as well as a couple secrets. The map is compact but offers plenty of cover for some pretty interesting firefights. I always thought a parking garage would make a good place to paintball or something, so here you go. Enjoy!

This map evolved from [RDC]Spook's castle map for half-life 1. I remade his map and created 5castle_v3, then remade that and created castle_overload. While porting and rebuilding this map for HL2 Deathmatch, I decided to cut a lot of the areas out. The map has far less areas and secrets as compared to my half-life 1 version. I cut the fat out of the map in hopes to see the map used on more servers. Cutting out certain areas will bring the fight back out to the main open area and enable smaller servers to run the map.

Created by me (Twist) I must admit if you go outside the dome its sloppy, very sloppy..lol but I threw this together and there is NO lag and is really a kick ass map, that is great for DM at any grav setting.. I play Low grav (135) but It plays well on 600. DOWNLOAD THIS MAP FORSURE, if your just wanting to play a fun map without being critical, this is it.. besides you cant see my mess unless your in NO CLIP or editing it which like all my maps, your welcome to do.. Its all about keeping the game going..lol Have Fun.. you wont regret this one...
